The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
Psalm 51:17
And Jesus said to them, “The wedding guests cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.
Matthew 9:15
When we fast we are denying ourselves of food, a basic need of the human body. But Fasting goes beyond just the act and need. It gives us a sense of control over a necessity. And to God fasting is an act where one is dependent on His Grace. Perhaps what would be more pleasing to Him would be that, we fast from our old ways, transform our lives genuinely and trust God in all He does. For God does not despise a broken and a contrite heart.
I pray that God our Father draws and keeps you close to his son Jesus as you renounce your old ways mending your heart to His word and may His Holy Spirit Bless and Keep you. Amen
God Bless you and your loved ones. Amen
