Dressed for the Occasion

I will give you a new heart and a new mind. I will take away your stubborn heart of stone and give you an obedient heart.

The invitation to the Lord's banquet is for everyone, but how do you respond to the invitation is what matters. You cannot go to party dressed in your pajamas or dirty sports wear. You got to be appropriately dressed for the occasion. Therefore when you go before God you cannot go with your old self, the self of sin. You go in the righteousness of the Lamb, our Lord Jesus Christ, who took our sin on Him, by being obedient to his Father. God's Grace is freely available to each and everyone of us, but to allow it to function in our lives, rests completely with us. Therefore it has to be our constant prayer to God like in David's Psalm "Create a pure heart in me, O God, and put a new and loyal spirit in me.  Give me again the joy that comes from your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.  My sacrifice is a humble spirit, O God; you will not reject a humble and repentant heart."
For then we will be clothed in God's righteousness and will be among those who are chosen, for this is the will of God.

I pray that the Father puts in your heart a desire to seek Him in all earnestness and may the sincerity of your Heart be your reward as He chooses to reveal to you his Son Jesus. And may the Holy Spirit be your Friend and Guide along the way. Amen
