Failure is a very powerful word and the more you dread it the more power it has over you and when you associate it with other words like daily life, career, relationships etc, it begins to take grip over you, first in your mind and through your mind over you. The realities of life have never changed, everything is the same, what makes a difference then, is how we look at things, the more mind space you give something, the more important it becomes and the more it will affect you.
The apostles in the boat were fearful, because they felt they would die, as Jesus was asleep and hence this was their end, their failure. How many times have we felt the same in the different circumstance of our life, be it a job loss or a break up or some trying times, have we felt that this is it, there is no hope...
It is here that we need to remind ourselves that Jesus came to bring Hope and Salvation. He had a purpose and so did the apostles, do you think then, that the boat would have drowned???
Likewise we too have a purpose and up until our purpose is met, we have to trod along knowing fully that along the way we may fall like Peter who after being declared a rock promised Jesus that He would never deny him, yet that very night he did and not once but thrice, yet Jesus looked at him in Love and accepted him for who is was, we need to understand this love, and once we do, we will come to the acceptance our humanness and know that God is control.
