Prioritising God

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting in his office. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”  Levi got up, left everything, and followed him.
Luke 5:27‭-‬28 GNBDK

Reflection:
It is imperative that we respond to Jesus's call. For life on earth is just a pilgrimage and it is where we will spend our eternity that matters. In today's time we seldom get into any kind of relationship without knowing the other person; how then can we spend our eternity with God without knowing him whilst here on earth?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to open the doors of your heart to Jesus his son, who's is knocking and waiting to come in. May his Holy Spirit lead you to prioritise your life keeping God first. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to be God centric...

The people ask, “Why should we fast if the LORD never notices? Why should we go without food if he pays no attention?” The LORD says to them, “The truth is that at the same time as you fast, you pursue your own interests and oppress your workers.
Isaiah 58:3 GNBDK

My sacrifice is a humble spirit, O God; you will not reject a humble and repentant heart.
Psalms 51:17 GNBDK

Reflection:
While the world focuses on the external, God is concerned with the internal. For the world is temporary and is passing away. But what is created for eternity will always remain. How do I approach everything I do? Do I do it from a worldly point of view or do I make it God centric?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to center your life on his ways as you walk in the light and on the path of the eternal truth; our Lord Jesus Christ. And may his Holy Spirit always help you discern your every action. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Freedom of Choice

Then Jesus said to the crowd, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me."
Luke 9:23

Reflection:
It all comes down to one thing and that is our ability to chose. If God ever wanted his way, we would never have a free will. God's love is so free and unbinding, that the choice is with us. There are two words that stand out in the verse above; 'if' and 'daily' and that comes down to what we want to choose.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to choose his son in all that you do, for this is why He made you. May his Holy Spirit lead and guide along life's way as you discern your choices. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Lent: A Time for Joyful Change

"Make certain you do not perform your religious duties in public so that people will see what you do. If you do these things publicly, you will not have any reward from your Father in heaven."
Matthew 6:1 GNBDK

Reflection:
While the general view at the season of Lent is of seriousness and silence. One can specifically look at the season as time to go within and journey with Jesus, just as He did in the dessert. The fasting, abstinence, alms giving allof these are catalyst to lessen our dependence on the material world, thus letting Christ increase as we decrease. Let us then strive to make this season of Lent a joyful journey of getting closer to God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to open your heart to Jesus his son as you journey this season of Lent in the knowledge and light of his love guided by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones.
