Praise and Thanks

Mary said, “My heart praises the Lord;  my soul is glad because of God my Saviour,   for he has remembered me, his lowly servant! From now on all people will call me happy,  because of the great things the Mighty God has done for me. His name is holy.
Luke 1:46‭-‬49 GNBDK

Reflection:
In knowing that we are children of God called to his banquet, as we have been made righteous through Jesus Christ. Do we Praise and Thank God for what he has done or do we get stuck with Chores of life? Mary sets an example for us all,  though she was the first tabernacle to hold our precious lord,  she was there serving her cousin and glorifying God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to see yourself as his child,  may you draw inspiration from Jesus his son and in all your doing give glory to God. And may his Holy Spirit help you discern all that you do. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The word of God

As the scripture says: “All human beings are like grass, and all their glory is like wild flowers. The grass withers, and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord remains for ever.” This word is the Good News that was proclaimed to you.
1 Peter 1:24‭-‬25 GNBDK

Reflection:
We often find ourselves chasing the external for happiness, but its like a carrot on a stick, and the chase only makes us weary. On the contrary if open ourselves in humility, we will see the Grace of God work in our lives and this will brings us peace and joy that the world cannot give.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you his word in Christ Jesus, the only hope for Salvation. May the word of God come alive in your life as you open yourself to be led by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

A Call to Holiness

Be obedient to God, and do not allow your lives to be shaped by those desires you had when you were still ignorant. Instead, be holy in all that you do, just as God who called you is holy.
1 Peter 1:14‭-‬15 GNBDK

Reflection:
We all have a circle of influence and whatever we do is observed,  as Christians then, how do we set an example of a holy life. Holiness does not mean taking out the joy and happiness from your life and being serious all the time. Holiness is call to be aware of the continuous presence of God in our lives and to behave in accordance.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to be aware of his presence in your life. May you firmly root and establish a relationship with Jesus his son. And may you always be led, guarded and guided by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Treasures in Heaven

Jesus looked straight at him with love and said, “You need only one thing. Go and sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven; then come and follow me.”
Mark 10:21 GNBDK

Reflection:
Jesus isn't against money, he is against the lust for money and attachment to all earthly things. Sooner or later we all will bid our adieus to life on earth and what we take with us is nothing from this earth,  but on the spiritual front, if we are doers of his word,  we will have treasures stored in Heaven.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to over come all earthly attachments as you abide in his son Jesus Christ spending each day in his word. May his Holy Spirit spring joy and newness of life as you do the will of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Being a Child of God

Those who are led by God's Spirit are God's children. Since we are his children, we will possess the blessings he keeps for his people, and we will also possess with Christ what God has kept for him; for if we share Christ's suffering, we will also share his glory.
Romans 8:14‭, ‬17 GNBDK

Reflection:
A key aspect of the Christian life is the cross, which is why Jesus invites us to carry our cross. And in gracefully carrying our cross we partake in what Jesus did in calvary accepting the will of His Father.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to accept his will. As you draw strength and inspiration from Jesus to carry your cross,  may you find his peace and joy that is unexplainable to the world. And may you always be led by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to be like little Children

When Jesus noticed this, he was angry and said to his disciples, “Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you that whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”
Mark 10:14‭-‬15 GNBDK

Reflection:
Little Children are nescient to the ways of the world. They don't differentiate on colour, race, religion or financial  status. They are, in all aspects innocent and humble. And this is how God wants us to be, for Gods ways are not our ways. If we want to be in heaven, we got to become like little Children.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace so that you can leave behind the knowledge and ways of the world as you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour in all humility. And may his Holy Spirit teach you God's ways. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Discerning the desire of your Heart

But in the beginning, at the time of creation, ‘God made them male and female,’ as the scripture says.
Mark 10:6 GNBDK

Reflection:
In his infinite wisdom God created us in his image and likeness, but in our human imperfection we have taken advantage of our free will and have gone against nature.  While God creates us as male and female, the desires he placed in our heart, is a call to discernment, for life full of purpose.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to discern his calling for you. Like Jesus, may you always surrender your will to God's will. And may his Holy Spirit give to you the courage and wisdom to walk in the light. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Uniquely Made

“Salt is good; but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? “Have the salt of friendship among yourselves, and live in peace with one another.”
Mark 9:50 GNBDK

Reflection:
Each of us is uniquely made, we have a flavour that is distinct. However the general tendency is to follow the herd,  and in doing so we lose our God given flavour. Let us be more aware of who we are in Christ Jesus as we sprinkle away our lives to build his kingdom.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to see yourself for who you really are, made in the image and likeness of God himself. May Jesus always be an inspiration to you as you do all that God wills for you. And may his Holy Spirit be by your side at all times. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Commission and Omission

So then, those who do not do the good they know they should do are guilty of sin.
James 4:17 GNBDK

Reflection:
While we might always think that sin is doing something against the law. The act of not doing good too, is a sin.  As we get closer to Christ let us not just focus on the sin of commission but also the sin of omission.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to be like Jesus his son. And  may his Holy Spirit always help you to strive not just to keep away from bad, but also to always do good. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Call to Humility

But the grace that God gives is even stronger. As the scripture says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
James 4:6 GNBDK

Jesus sat down, called the twelve disciples, and said to them, “Whoever wants to be first must place himself last of all and be the servant of all.”
Mark 9:35 GNBDK

Reflection:
Humility it is a virtue that precedes from the grace of God. And the more we humble ourselves the more closer we are to God, while the world will often challenge us, we have to be aware of inner being and purpose. Jesus was asked to come down from the cross if he was the son of God. Indeed he is the son of God and humbly stayed on the cross for us.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father, pours out on you his grace, so in all humility you accept his son Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. May his Holy Spirit always teach you God's ways as you put your self last and be willing to serve. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

21 May 2018

Come as you are

“Yes,” said Jesus, “if you yourself can! Everything is possible for the person who has faith.” The father at once cried out, “I do have faith, but not enough. Help me to have more!”
Mark 9:23‭-‬24 GNBDK

Reflection:
With matters of faith, our dependency on God has to be 100%, even a single drop in a percentage, does not make it whole. But here is where we can still count on Christ by simply coming to him as we are and saying “I do have faith, but not enough. Help me to have more!”

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to call on Jesus for every short coming in your life. As you are made whole and witness the hand of God in your life may his Holy Spirit teach you wisdom and humility of Gods ways. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Bearing Fruits of the Holy Spirit

But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these.
Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 GNBDK

Reflection:
These are the fruits we are called to bear, for this is how Christ himself lived. Our human imperfection may lead us to the desires of the flesh, but Christ has over come it all, even death. Let us ask him to renew us with His Holy Spirit, for he has promised us the same. And it is this Holy Spirit that will be help us bear fruits.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father renews your heart to be a vessel for his son Jesus. May you always walk in Jesus' ways as he abides in you and may his Holy Spirit bless you with its fruits and gifts to build the Kingdom of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Focusing on Jesus

Jesus answered him, “If I want him to live until I come, what is that to you? Follow me!”
John 21:22 GNBDK

Reflection:
Our relationship with God is one on one and hence every human being is unique. However,  we fail to realize this and often compare our lives to that of others, whereas Jesus tells we shouldn't be concerned about it but our focus and goal should be him.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to see your self like He does. May you always choose to keep your focus and follow Jesus and may his Holy Spirit help you establish all that God has willed and planned for you. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Call to Ministry

After they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these others do?” “Yes, Lord,” he answered, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Take care of my lambs.”  A second time Jesus said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” “Yes, Lord,” he answered, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Take care of my sheep.”  A third time Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was sad because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” so he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you!” Jesus said to him, “Take care of my sheep.
John 21:15‭-‬17 GNBDK

Reflection:
The call to a life in ministry is a call to proclaiming our love for Jesus. And this love is shown, when the lambs fed, the sheep are tended and fed. But how do we feed them? We share with them the bread of life; Jesus.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you close to Jesus his son. May you experience his unconditional love and and filled with peace and joy.  And may his Holy Spirit give you the courage and wisdom to tend and feed God's flock. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

God stands by us

That night the Lord stood by Paul and said, “Don't be afraid! You have given your witness for me here in Jerusalem, and you must also do the same in Rome.”
Acts 23:11 GNBDK

Reflection:
The true Christian doesn't shy away from suffering, in fact is motivated by Christ himself, who willingly took up his cross. We have nothing to be afraid in this life, for Christ himself has overcome everything even death, and one day we will share in his Glory.

Prayer:
I prayer that God our Father gives you the grace to call out to Jesus to who you can give all your burden, as you shoulder his yoke. And may his Holy Spirit give courage and humility to depend on the grace of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Giving by the Grace of God

"I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way we must help the weak, remembering the words that the Lord Jesus himself said, ‘There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.’"
Acts 20:35 GNBDK

Reflection:
Jesus ministry was all about reaching out to people and he worked very hard. But He always withdrew himself to pray to the Father from whom He drew his strength. We too want to give and serve, but giving can come from convenience or sacrifice, let our hearts always be joyful and realize that our giving comes from the Grace of God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to be generous in thought word and deed. So that you can emulate Jesus his son, who gave up everything, even the last drop of blood for our Salvation. And may his Holy Spirit guide and guard your heart at all times. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Knowing of and Knowing

And eternal life means knowing you, the only true God, and knowing Jesus Christ, whom you sent.  And now I am coming to you; I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world. Holy Father! Keep them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me,  so that they may be one just as you and I are one.
John 17:3‭, ‬11 GNBDK

Reflection:
A simple analogy in knowing of and knowing is what we see in the spousal and family relationship. The knowing of is at the beginning and as all aspects of their life are shared together they come to know each other. This is the relationship we are called to share with our maker. So that, we not just know of Him, but we actually know Him.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you grace to share an intimate relationship  with him, through Jesus his son, so that you may know God and give him glory in all that you do and may his Holy Spirit strengthen and grow your faith. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Abide in the Love of God

"If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. My commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you."
John 15:10‭, ‬12 GNBDK

Reflection:
We are all longing for Peace because most times we are doing our own and in the course of it we are drained of our strength and joy. But life is simple and this comes from the word of God. We are called to abide in God's love and we can do so, only when we love one and another, for this is His commandment.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace and humility to doing his will, just like Jesus. In doing so may you find the peace of Christ, that no one can give and take away. And may his Holy Spirit nurture your ways. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

13 May 2018

Called to be like Christ

"I gave them your message, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but I do ask you to keep them safe from the Evil One."
John 17:14‭-‬15 GNBDK

Reflection:
While we live here on earth, our understanding of its possession should be transient. It is easier to please the flesh on earth, but what Jesus wants from us is to manifest the spiritual realm in our thoughts, words and actions. And the world will know we are Christians by our Love.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father, draws you to Jesus his son, as you humbly seek gods will, may you receive the grace to walk in His realm and may his Holy Spirit always guide your thoughts, words and actions. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

12 May 2018

Called to be Humble

At that time a Jew named Apollos, who had been born in Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent speaker and had a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him home with them and explained to him more correctly the Way of God.
Acts 18:24‭, ‬26 GNBDK

Reflection:
While we are blessed in wisdom and knowledge of God, we ought to be open to all that is beyond our understanding and the key to that is humility. And Jesus confirms this as he taught 'Happy are those who are humble; they will receive what God has promised!'

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father pours out his grace on you, so that like Jesus you walk in humility of the knowledge of God. And may his Holy Spirit give you the strength and courage to persist in Gods ways. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Asking for the will of God

"I am telling you the truth: the Father will give you whatever you ask him for in my name."
John 16:23 GNBDK

Reflections:
It is true that what we ask for in Jesus name will surely be given to us, but that doesn't mean that God our Father will give in to all petitions and requests. For Jesus himself submitted his will to the Father and humbly accepted the cross. Therefore whatever we ask in Jesus name will be given to us in accordance to the will of God as we humbly submit ours for his greater glory.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to seek his will, like Jesus may you submit yours to his will. And may his Holy Spirit give courage and humility to accept Gods will as your actions give glory to God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Being a Child of God

And so we shall all come together to that oneness in our faith and in our knowledge of the Son of God; we shall become mature people, reaching to the very height of Christ's full stature.
Ephesians 4:13 GNBDK

Reflection:
The purpose of our Christian journey is to become like Christ. But the standard of Christ is not of the world,  for the world wanted Christ to prove himself the Son of God by coming down from the cross. But he proved it by staying on it and pleading for forgiveness for those who put him on the cross.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace and humility of reaching and knowing his ways in Jesus Christ his son. And may his Holy Spirit bear in you its fruits as you witness being a child of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Mysteries of God

When, however, the Spirit comes, who reveals the truth about God, he will lead you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own authority, but he will speak of what he hears, and will tell you of things to come.
John 16:13 GNBDK

Reflection:
The wisdom of God is beyond simple human comprehension, for how can death on a cross be victory,  yet it is Love that brings victory overcoming sin and death. But these things are hidden from the learned and self righteous, which is why Jesus said the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven are revealed to lil children, for in their innocence and humility they are receptive to his Holy Spirit.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father through his mercy pours out his grace on you, as it moves your heart to walk in the way, the truth and light of Jesus his son and may his Holy Spirit reveal to you the mysteries of the kingdom, helping you build your faith and bear witness to it. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Holy Spirit - Our Help

But I am telling you the truth: it is better for you that I go away, because if I do not go, the Helper will not come to you. But if I do go away, then I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will prove to the people of the world that they are wrong about sin and about what is right and about God's judgement.
John 16:7‭-‬8 GNBDK

Reflection:
Our human understanding is very fallible for we often think through the flesh. But since we are born again in Spirit, we need the Holy Spirit. Jesus assures that the Holy Spirit is with us, and if we listen to him, our path will be directed according to God's ways.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father opens your heart and mind to the understanding of his ways. May Jesus on the cross always be a sign of Hope and Victory and may his Holy Spirit, the advocate and helper always be by your side. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Revelation

One of those who heard us was Lydia from Thyatira, who was a dealer in purple cloth. She was a woman who worshipped God, and the Lord opened her mind to pay attention to what Paul was saying.
Acts 16:14 GNBDK

Reflection:
You may belong to any race, culture or creed. As you seek the truth and love God with all your heart, mind soul and strength. God will reveal himself to you! How many times have we run pillar to post seeking God and yet felt distant. The truth is God is looking at you from the inside, when he finds himself in your heart, he will come and dwell there.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you close to Jesus his son, in whom is the the source and summit to Eternal Life.  May his Holy Spirit help you understand scripture and God's plan for your life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

God is Love

Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.
1 John 4:8 GNBDK

My commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you.
John 15:12 GNBDK

Reflection:
It is very easy to love those who love us, but God's commandment is to love one another. And if we don't understand this, we ought to look at the cross and know that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. Why? Because He loves us.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to love the ones he has placed in your life, especially the ones you find difficult. May you draw strength from Jesus who even on the cross prayed for forgiveness for those who did him wrong. And may his Holy Spirit help you bear witness to God's  love. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Not Trends, but the truth

"If the world hates you, just remember that it has hated me first. If you belonged to the world, then the world would love you as its own. But I chose you from this world, and you do not belong to it; that is why the world hates you."
John 15:18‭-‬19 GNBDK

Reflection:
God's ways our not our ways, for our ways are merely at the level of the flesh. The problem with the world today is trends, and everyone wants to follow one. But the truth is the truth,  whether one believes or a billion, the truth the doesn't change. Knowing that you are chosen believe in the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father reveals to you the truth, as you find your strength in Jesus his son to walk the narrow path. And may his Holy Spirit give courage and the grace to resist the temptations of the world. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Commanded to Love

My commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you.  This, then, is what I command you: love one another.
John 15:12‭, ‬17 GNBDK

Reflection:
When in school, what the principal says is final and binding, at the workplace it's the boss. When a court summons an order,  it is adhered too. Why then do we fail to understand the command of the king of kings? All that Jesus wants us to do is; Love one another.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father touches your heart in very special way today,  so that you see the love of Jesus you have received all your life through the various people that you have come across. And may his Holy Spirit help you reciprocate Gods love to all that come your way. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to be Miracle Workers

Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me. I am telling you the truth: those who believe in me will do what I do — yes, they will do even greater things, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask for in my name, so that the Father's glory will be shown through the Son.
John 14:6‭, 12‭-‬13 GNBDK

Reflection:
We are all called to be miracle workers,  but the works are for the glory of God and to build his kingdom. Once we come to this understanding whatever we ask in the name of Jesus shall be granted. Salvation is only through Jesus and that is the truth.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father reveals to you, your true identity in Jesus Christ his son. May your life be full of purpose as you build the Kingdom of God and may his Holy Spirit be your helper and guide. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The True Vine

Remain united to me, and I will remain united to you. A branch cannot bear fruit by itself; it can do so only if it remains in the vine. In the same way you cannot bear fruit unless you remain in me.
John 15:4 GNBDK

Reflection:
Without Jesus we can do nothing that bears fruit, fruit of the Spirit and not of the world. For Jesus has overcome it all. Ponder this; Jesus was challenged to come down from the cross, but he didn't? What if you were in Jesus' place,  what would you have done?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you to his son Jesus and may you remain in him for He is the true vine.  And as you do so, may his Holy Spirit bear abundant fruit in you. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Peace of God

"Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid."
John 14:27 GNBDK

Reflection:
The peace that Jesus gives us is beyond our comprehension. For even if we are in the midst of a storm, it feels like a cool evening breeze. Is there something that is bothering you?  Is there something that is trying to steal your peace? Surrender it all Jesus to experience a peace the world cannot give.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you to Jesus his son, and as you completely surrender your life, may you experience his incomprehensible peace. And may his Holy Spirit sustain you at all times. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)
