Hunger for God

The official replied, “How can I understand unless someone explains it to me?” And he invited Philip to climb up and sit in the carriage with him.
Acts 8:31 GNBDK

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread, he will live for ever. The bread that I will give him is my flesh, which I give so that the world may live.”
John 6:51 GNBDK

Reflection:
You have to hunger for God, just like the Ethopian did. For when you hunger that way, God who sees and knows your heart will make it possible to feed you with the living bread Christ Jesus his son. And when you receive Jesus through his word and his body. You shall hunger no more, your eyes will be opened and you shall be free.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to draw close to him through his son our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May your  encounter with Jesus satiate you as you willing submit yourself to the guidance of his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Will of God our Father

"For what my Father wants is that all who see the Son and believe in him should have eternal life. And I will raise them to life on the last day."
John 6:40 GNBDK

Reflection:
It is difficult to comprehend the love of God because as humans we find it so hard, to forgive those who have wronged us. Yet, the Father's will is that each one of us be saved, all we need to do is repent and believe in his son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to repent and accept his word of forgiveness made flesh in Jesus Christ his son. May you renounce your old ways as you walk into the new lead by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Everything is found in Jesus

“I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them. “Those who come to me will never be hungry; those who believe in me will never be thirsty.”
John 6:35 GNBDK

Reflection:
It was our heavenly Father who gave the people manna in the dessert and it him who has given us the bread if life through his son Jesus. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son as a perfect sacrifice for the ransom of many. Do you we then believe in the body and blood of Christ or are there symbolic to us? It all comes down to our Faith!

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to receive in reverence his Holy word made flesh in Jesus Christ his son, may his body that you receive in Holy communion open up your eyes to see the truth and may his Holy Spirit reveal to you all that may lead to you to bear good fruit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Jesus Christ: The Bread of Life

Jesus answered, “I am telling you the truth: you are looking for me because you ate the bread and had all you wanted, not because you understood my miracles. Do not work for food that goes bad; instead, work for the food that lasts for eternal life. This is the food which the Son of Man will give you, because God, the Father, has put his mark of approval on him.”
John 6:26‭-‬27 GNBDK

Reflection:
We often look to God as our wish-maker, and as long as our earthly needs are met we seemed to be pleased with God. The truth is God is interested in preparing us for eternity and how we respond to his call makes the difference in us chasing food that perishes or the food that lasts for Eternal life.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to trust his ways. May the bread of life; Jesus Christ satiate you as you accept His word. And may his Holy Spirit always go before you to lead and guide you along the way. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

God will make a way

You will show me the path that leads to life; your presence fills me with joy and brings me pleasure for ever.
Psalms 16:11 GNBDK

Reflection:
Our minds can deceive us, with clouds of doubt or at times with unnecessary worry. But our hope is in the Lord and giver of life. Therefore, listen to him through his word as it shows you that Jesus is the truth and the only way to Salvation.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to dwell in his word made flesh in Jesus Christ his son. May you find hope and peace as his Holy Spirit opens your eyes and strengthens your faith. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Resistance

"Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.  Be alert, be on the watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams round like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour."
1 Peter 5:7‭-‬8 GNBDK

Reflection:
A worry free life does not mean a life without temptations. But temptations aren't sin, when we give into them, we sin. Therefore we've got to be very alert because the enemy doesn't fancy the lost, he is wants to distract those walking in the light from their true calling, but we have the power of God's Holy spirit and therefore we can and should resist the enemy at all times.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to trust Him completely just as Jesus Christ did from through God alone comes all the good things. May you be empowered by his Holy Spirit to resist temptations and continue your journey in the light and truth. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Godly Endeavours

"Leave them alone! If what they have planned and done is of human origin, it will disappear, but if it comes from God, you cannot possibly defeat them. You could find yourselves fighting against God!".
Acts 5:38‭b-‬39a GNBDK

Reflection:
Human endeavour is temporary, but God's doing is eternal. When God and man work in unison the results then, are astounding. Perhaps that is why we will only find fulfillment in our God given purpose for our lives.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to always walk in His ways. May everything you do be for his greater glory just like Jesus Christ his son did. And may his Holy Spirit bless and guide you in all your endeavours. Amen

God Bless you and your loved one :)

God is making a way

The LORD is near to those who are discouraged; he saves those who have lost all hope. Good people suffer many troubles, but the LORD saves them from them all.
Psalms 34:18‭-‬19 GNBDK

Reflection:
The times we are in might seem challenging and overwhelming, but as Christians we have Hope that even death cannot defeat. You may be going through a circumstance or situation that is unique to you, but know that God is aware of every breath you take and He is making a way where there seems to be no way.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to Trust him in all things just like Jesus Christ his son did. May his Holy Spirit bless you with wisdom and understanding as you yield unto God's will and timing. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Choosing the Light

"All those who do evil things hate the light and will not come to the light, because they do not want their evil deeds to be shown up.  But those who do what is true come to the light in order that the light may show that what they did was in obedience to God."
John 3:20‭-‬21 GNBDK

Reflection:
The journey is all about going inward and letting go of those things that hinder one's will to submit to the Most Almighty FATHER. We have been given a free will, and worldly pleasures may seem enticing and bring happiness. But we ought to know that the journey here is only temporary while you and I are created for Eternity.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to submit your will to him just as Jesus Christ his son did. May you walk in his light away from darkness as you listen to his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Life in Eternity; Do you believe?

"You do not believe me when I tell you about the things of this world; how will you ever believe me, then, when I tell you about the things of heaven?"
John 3:12 GNBDK

Reflection:
Even though we see the hand of God in everything around us, yet there is this tendency to think of it as worldly development. And when it comes to matters of Faith and the church, our response has become lukewarm. How can we believe then, what God has planned for us in eternity?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace and sets your heart on fire for the love of his son Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. May his Holy Spirit enlighten your mind and reveal to you with wisdom and understanding the things you ought to see and know. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Be lead by his Holy Spirit

When they finished praying, the place where they were meeting was shaken. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to proclaim God's message with boldness.
Acts 4:31 GNBDK

“I am telling you the truth,” replied Jesus. “No one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.”
John 3:5 GNBDK

Reflection:
By the sacrament of our baptism we have been sealed and gifted with the Holy Spirit. The same Holy Spirit that Jesus has promised to be with us through all ages. But we are so caught up with our own ways, we seldom listen to the Spirit. Our empowerment as true followers of Christ will come only when we are lead by the Spirit.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to open your heart and submit your will to him just like Jesus Christ his son did. May he empower his Holy Spirit within you to lead you to your purpose as you bear good fruit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Gratitude and Hope

Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Because of his great mercy he gave us new life by raising Jesus Christ from death. This fills us with a living hope.
1 Peter 1:3 GNBDK

Reflection:
The two aspects that are very important part of our Christian living is Gratitude and Hope. Gratitude because God is good and every good thing comes from God. And the hope we have is not limited by the constraints of this world, it is a living and eternal Hope, in the knowledge that God's goodness is for us.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to yield unto him just as Jesus Christ his son did, may you experience the living hope as you live in gratitude for all your blessings and may you always be lead by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Sharing the Hope

Jesus said to them, “Go throughout the whole world and preach the gospel to the whole human race.”
Mark 16:15 GNBDK

Reflection:
At some point in our lives the word of God; the good news of salvation has made a difference to us. It might have bought us peace, joy or even contentment. But what have done with it, kept what we've received to ourselves. But the Lord commands us, that we ought to share the hope, we have received.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to share the Hope that you have received through his word made flesh in Jesus Christ his son; our Lord and Saviour. May his Holy Spirit empower you to be his true witness. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Salvation is only through Jesus

Peter, full of the Holy Spirit, answered them, “Leaders of the people and elders: Salvation is to be found through him alone (Jesus); in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us.”
Acts 4:8‭, ‬12 GNBDK

Reflection:
The truth is bare in front of us; Salvation can only be found through Jesus. But the question we need to ask ourselves is, do we even realize our need for salvation? The world we are in might be very alluring, but when life on earth ends, life in eternity begins. The only thing you will possibly take to eternity is your faith and character. Therefore choose wisely and live well.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to understand the need for your salvation. May you accept Jesus Christ his son as you Lord and Saviour, knowing fully that it He who makes you new. And may his Holy Spirit always go before you. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

16 April 2020

Peace be with you

While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?
Luke 24:36, 38 NIV

Reflection:
The first greeting that our risen Lord Jesus made to his disciples was 'Peace be with you'. And this is the testimony to the fact that no one knows us better the Him. Perhaps at the times we are in, we too are troubled and our having our own doubts, But Christ gives us his peace - which the world cannot take away.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to experience in your heart and mind, the peace that comes from Jesus Christ his son. May his Holy Spirit bless and keep you rejuvenated this  day. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to the Eucharist

He sat down to eat with them, took the bread, and said the blessing; then he broke the bread and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, but he disappeared from their sight.
Luke 24:30‭-‬31 GNBDK

Reflection:
The Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life (CCC 1324). And this passage above that took place after the resurrection gives us the depth and meaning of how Christ not only reveals himself but actually gives himself to us, to this present day. In the times we are the celebration of the Eucharist has been a online fare and it might have dawned on us what we are missing, let's us then look forward to the eternal Hope that comes from Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to open your heart to his son Jesus Christ as you encounter him in his divinity through the Eucharistic celebration. And as you do so in reverence and faith may his Holy Spirit reveal to you the truth. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Choice is yours

With many other words Peter warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
Acts 2:40‭-‬41 NIV

Reflection:
In the salvation story, acceptance is key. You and I have been given the gift of free will, which means we have the ability to choose. And the choices we make will determine its consequences. God promises us Salvation through his son Jesus, are you willing then, to accept His word?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to accept His word made flesh through Jesus Christ his son. And may His Holy Spirit always keep you aware of the choices you make. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Do not be Afraid

“Do not be afraid,” Jesus said to them.
Matthew 28:10a GNBDK

Reflection:
Jesus has conquered death, He is victorious over something that human mind has always been afraid of. It is with this confidence of triumph that Jesus assures us, that 'we need not be afraid'. And this is the confidence we ought to have, knowing that; in Jesus name, the victory belongs to us.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to overcome every fear in the name of Jesus Christ his son, who is our Lord and Saviour. And may his Holy Spirit teach you with perfect Love. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

12 April 2020

Called to Witness

"But God raised him from death three days later and caused him to appear, not to everyone, but only to the witnesses that God had already chosen, that is, to us who ate and drank with him after he rose from death."
Acts 10:40‭-‬41 GNBDK

Reflection:
To know and understand God you have to journey with him through the renewal of your heart and mind. And while there many who have experienced God's Love. There are still many others who haven't. And the Easter message is this, that those who have experienced God's love are called to be his witness.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to bear witness to his Love which you have found in his word made flesh in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. May his Holy Spirit bless you with wisdom, understanding and courage. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Be Still

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalms 46:10 NIV

Reflection:
It may all seem silent and at times even numb. But know that God is in control of everything, after all He is the very creator and author of life. He knows the beginning and the end. All we need to do is to 'Be still' and trust him.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to be still and trust him no matter what your circumstance is. May you commend your all into God's Hands just as Jesus did when on the cross and may you always be  lead by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones:)

10 April 2020

Called for a Purpose

Jesus drank the wine and said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and died.
John 19:30 GNBDK

Reflection:
Very significant words that came from Jesus. What did Jesus finish or accomplish; it was purpose that He was sent for; the will of the Father. We too our on this earth for a purpose. Are we then living to the Father's will or are we simply insistent on our own?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to open up to his will as you live your life with a sense of purpose. May you grow in full maturity with Jesus Christ his son as you discern your path guided by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Christianity: A Call to Serve

Jesus said, "if I, your Lord and Teacher, have just washed your feet. You, then, should wash one another's feet. I have set an example for you, so that you will do just what I have done for you."
John 13:14‭-‬15 GNBDK

Reflection:
Christianity is a call to service, that is modelled on what Christ himself has taught us through his own actions. Each one of us; members of his body is called to serve, with the gifts and talents we have. And in doing so, we emulate Christ; preparing ourselves for the life to come in eternity.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to understand his teachings made known to us through the word, made flesh in Christ Jesus his son. May his Holy Spirit Bless you with wisdom and knowledge as you seek to do God's will. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones:)

Let It Go

Judas, the traitor, spoke up. “Surely, Teacher, you don't mean me?” he asked. Jesus answered, “So you say.”
Matthew 26:25 GNBDK

Reflection:
Self denial is a trap we can easily fall into, given our outward appearances. But we ought to remember that our God is God who search our hearts and knows our minds. We can hide everything we want from this world. But nothing is hidden to Him.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to open up and accept the truth found in Jesus Christ his son, who brings you acceptance and love. May his Holy Spirit help you discern your ways and reveal to you all that you need to let go off. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Take it to God in prayer

Jesus answered, "Are you really ready to die for me? I am telling you the truth: before the cock crows you will say three times that you do not know me."
John 13:38 GNBDK

Reflection:
We may identify ourselves as spiritual and/or religious beings. But that's doesn't imply that we are perfect. We live in broken world, a world broken by sin. And as the enemy prowls around us with temptations galore, being aware of Human nature will keep us in good stead. Jesus knows our every weaknesses, if you find yourself struggling, take it to the Lord in prayer.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to help you see and accept your weaknesses, for it is through them, that the power of Jesus Christ his son will be seen. May his Holy Spirit give you the wisdom and understanding of always doing; what is pleasing to God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Offering to God

Then Mary took half a litre of a very expensive perfume made of pure nard, poured it on Jesus' feet, and wiped them with her hair. The sweet smell of the perfume filled the whole house.
John 12:3 GNBDK

Reflection:
It might seem as a very irrational action, but look closer and you will see that Mary was giving her all and her best. When it comes to offering how do we decide what we should be offering to God. Is it from what is left or is it the best we have?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to always offer the best you have knowing that gave his son Jesus Christ for your salvation. May his Holy Spirit help you discern God's will for your life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Jesus's Sacrifice

"Then Pilate's soldiers took Jesus into the governor's palace, and the whole company gathered round him. They stripped off his clothes and put a scarlet robe on him. They spat on him, and took the stick and hit him over the head."
Matthew 27:27‭-‬28‭, ‬30 GNBDK

Reflection:
When we see another human being hit unjustly it pains us. Take a moment and imagine then, what Jesus had to go through. We cannot change the past, but surely we can alter our present and future. Everytime you feel like giving into temptation, picture Jesus being beaten and mocked not because he did wrong, but was paying the price for our sins.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to always remain in his word made flesh in Jesus Christ his son as you reject sin. May his Holy Spirit stir within you the love for God as you willfully walk in the truth and light of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Jesus the Pleasing Sacrifice

“Don't you realize that it is better for you to let one man die for the people, instead of having the whole nation destroyed?”
John 11:50 GNBDK

Reflection:
Out of Love we were created in God's image and likeness. We ought to be like Him, but his love was never conditional. And thou we chose sin, He chose the sacrifice that would please Him. Jesus is one man who died for the whole world. What then are you going to choose?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to see the light and life found in Jesus Christ his son. May you firmly renounce your old ways as you take to the new way guided by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

03 April 2020

Believe: God is always with us

“Do not believe me, then, if I am not doing the things my Father wants me to do. But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, you should at least believe my deeds, in order that you may know once and for all that the Father is in me and that I am in the Father.”
John 10:37‭-‬38 GNBDK

Reflection:
We are all thinking about the future, and perhaps concerned about what may come to be. But life here on earth is journey of coming to know God and doing his will. You may not be sure of this looking forward but take a deep look at your life; from where you started and where you have come and you will see that God was always by your side.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to see his presence in your life at all times. May you find peace and joy as you dwell in his word made flesh in Christ Jesus his son. And may his Holy Spirit Bless and keep you. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Created for Eternity

Jesus said to them, "I am telling you the truth: whoever obeys my teaching will never die."
John 8:51 GNBDK

Reflections:
You were created in God's image and likeness and to share life with him. However,  disobedience to God brought death to life on earth. But God made a covenant with Abraham that His people will live forever and that covenant has been fulfilled by Jesus, who has overcome even death. Know that while life on earth maybe temporary, your were created for eternity.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to see with eyes of faith the life He has promised through Christ Jesus his son. May his Holy Spirit help you to understand God's ways. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to Freedom

*_So Jesus said to those who believed in him, “If you obey my teaching, you are really my disciples; you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”_*
John 8:31‭-‬32 GNBDK

Reflection:
We have come to understand freedom in a very myopic way and in doing so limiting it's purpose. Everything created in earth is for a purpose, and when you find the true purpose and meaning of creation you will enjoy your freedom. And how do we do that? By remaining in God's Word.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to dwell in his word made flesh in Christ Jesus his son. And may his Holy Spirit help you understand God's will and purpose for your life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)
