The Lord Thirsts

Jesus knew that by now everything had been completed; and in order to make the scripture come true, he said, “I am thirsty.”
John 19:28 GNBDK

Reflection:
The one who assured the woman at the well that He was the living water is himself thirsty. But this thirst is not for water, it is for your YES. You whole hearted and willing yes. Your yes to obedience, your yes to reject sin and your Yes to unconditional love. The Saviour is thirsting for you to say Yes to him.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you a thirst for the truth so that in seeking it you find your answers in Jesus, the truth, the way and the life. And may his Holy Spirit quench your longing through revelations by the will of God.

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to Serve

You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet.
John 13:13‭-‬14 NLT

Reflection:
This is what makes for selfless love,  You love others first; God, neighbour and yourself. Love is not just in words but in actions and what better example then Jesus himself. We are all called to serve and to serve in humility and love.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father calls you out, to be his instrument of love and service. May you draw strength from the works and merits of Jesus Christ his son. And may his Holy Spirit give you the strength and a heart full of love to serve. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Condemning the Sin

"The Son of Man will die as the Scriptures say he will, but how terrible for that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would have been better for that man if he had never been born!"
Matthew 26:24 GNBDK

Reflection:
Stern words coming from Jesus, but this anguish is against the sin and the helplessness of Jesus unable to change the choice of his betrayer. For God loves us for who we are, and it is out of this love, that he has given us the freedom of our will. What we chose then, is what we will receive; salvation or damnation.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to choose Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. And may your life be renewed in the newness of his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

God loves me

After Jesus had said this, he was deeply troubled and declared openly, “I am telling you the truth: one of you is going to betray me.” Jesus answered, “Are you really ready to die for me? I am telling you the truth: before the cock crows you will say three times that you do not know me.”
John 13:21‭, ‬38 GNBDK

Reflection:
God knows our every thought, word and action before we can even think,  say or do it. Yet he loves us for who we are, and not what we become; for Christ died for us while we we're still sinners. And we ought to know and remember that we are born out of the love of God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father touches your heart making you aware of his love for you, as you say yes to Jesus. And may his Holy Spirit give you the courage and wisdom to do the will of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

God knows your intent

But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.” He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.
John 12:4‭-‬6 NIV

Reflection:
While we may think God only sees our actions, which he does. He also knows the intentions of our hearts and the validity of the actions at most times is based on the intentions we have. For there is Nothing hidden from God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to live with pure intent. May you walk the path shown by Jesus himself as you give glory to God in all that you do and may his Holy Spirit strengthen you with its fruits and gifts.  Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Pray in the Spirit

"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Mark 14:38 NIV

Reflection:
Our human bodies inherit the fall, which is why the flesh is weak, but in the baptism we are born of the Spirit, and that is what stirs the good on. While there is a tug-o-war between the flesh and the spirit, it is in the power of prayer that we can overcome temptations.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to pray at all times as you resist temptations of all kinds in desert of life just like Jesus. And may his Holy Spirit give you the wisdom and words to pray according to the will of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

It happened with Jesus

Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him. But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done.
John 11:45‭-‬46 NIV

Reflection:
We often get worried about what others think of us. Irrespective of our worry, there will always be an opinion. If it has happened with Jesus, it can happen with us too. But in Jesus we are called to take resource, for he reassures; If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. John 15:18

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father, draws you closer to Jesus his son as you nourish yourself with the Eternal word and the bread of life in the most holy sacrifice. And may his Holy Spirit give you the wisdom and understanding of God's  mysteries. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Hand of God

"Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father. But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."
John 10:37‭-‬38 NIV

Reflection:
There are times of doubt, we all go through in our faith journey, and Jesus knows and understands this. He invites us to take a closer look at our lives, and when we look back and connect the dots, we'll see the hand of God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father in his mercy, pours on you his grace which helps you see in your daily life the merit of Christ death upon the cross. And may his Holy Spirit reveal to you mysteries as you come back to the light of faith. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Fulfilment of the word

As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
Genesis 17:4‭-‬5 NIV

Reflection:
While this promise was made to Abraham, a similar scene occurred when Jesus told Simon, "you shall be called the rock and on this rock, I will build my church." And through these events, we see how the word of God reaches its fulfillment in Christ.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father opens your hearts to his teachings through the Church. May you experience Christ in the forgiveness of your sins and in the nourishment of your soul through his instruments in the sacraments. And may his Holy Spirit keep the word alive in you. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Live Free

So Jesus said to those who believed in him, “If you obey my teaching, you are really my disciples; you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:31‭-‬32 GNBDK

Reflection:
Do you call yourself a disciple of Christ? And if so, are you living the abundant and free life? As long as we live in the word and allow the word to live in us, we move from the natural to the supernatural realm. And the truth is Christ makes this possible because Grace is a free gift from God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father opens your heart to receive his grace as you walk and live in the word, made flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. And may his Holy Spirit give you the wisdom and understanding of the truth. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Looking at the Cross

Then the LORD told Moses to make a metal snake and put it on a pole, so that anyone who was bitten could look at it and be healed.
Numbers 21:8 GNBDK

So he said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, you will know that ‘I Am Who I Am’; then you will know that I do nothing on my own authority, but I say only what the Father has instructed me to say.
John 8:28 GNBDK

Reflection:
The cross is a reminder of who Jesus really is: The lamb of God, offered as a perfect sacrifice. Every time I look at the cross, I am reminded that Jesus took my place and asked the Father to forgive me. Every time I look at the cross I am reminded to be humble and grateful.  Every time I look at the cross I know I am redeemed.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you grace to turn to the cross, always. May Jesus become the source your strength and joy as you always live in the hope that comes from the cross.  And may you surrender yourself to his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

19 March 2018

Hail, Dear Joseph

Joseph was a man who always did what was right, but he did not want to disgrace Mary publicly; so he made plans to break the engagement privately.
Matthew 1:19 GNBDK

Reflection:
Joseph was a good and humble man and humility is not something inherit. It is build day by day. The slightest rub our egos receive and we get ready to give back twice. But Joseph despite knowing that Mary is with child did not want to disgrace her publicly. Perhaps that's why God chose him to be the earthly father of Jesus his son.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father prunes out the unwanted in you. May Jesus sculpt you into his masterpiece of Grace and good Character as you in all humility surrender yourself and be open to his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

18 March 2018

Drawn to Jesus

"I am telling you the truth: a grain of wheat remains no more than a single grain unless it is dropped into the ground and dies. If it does die, then it produces many grains. When I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to me." (In saying this he indicated the kind of death he was going to suffer.)
John 12:24‭, ‬32‭-‬33 GNBDK

Reflection:
Christianity is not a religion of moral platitudes, it is a religion of Love. Christ died for us because we couldn't do away with sin, so he took it upon himself on the cross, because he loves me. And I follow Christ in dying to myself and seeking his will, thus loving him back.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you to himself as you accept Jesus his son, as your saviour. May you bear much fruit as you respond to God's love by doing his will as you are led by His Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

17 March 2018

Your Hearts Desire

You are a righteous God and judge our thoughts and desires.
Psalms 7:9a GNBDK

Reflection:
Our actions speak louder than words, but to God it is what's in our heart that matters. Let our intentions be holy and God will bless the desires of our heart.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father changes your heart to make it like Jesus his son, so that in all that you do, your hearts one desire will be for the greater glory of God. And may his Holy Spirit give you wisdom and understanding. Amen

God Bless you and your loves ones :)

Created for Eternity

When God created us, he did not intend that we should die; he made us like himself. It was the Devil's jealousy that brought death into the world, and those who belong to the Devil are the ones who will die.
Wisdom 2:23‭-‬24 GNBDK

Reflection:
At some point in our lives, we all have wanted to be immortal. And this is not something to be ashamed of, because this is how we were created to be, up until sin entered this world. Everything created on earth is a gift that is meant to lead us to us to the creator, but as humans we get more possessed with the gifts, thus taking us away from that we we're created to for: Eternity.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father opens the eyes of your heart to see your true calling in Christ Jesus his son. As you step out may you be aware that you are created for eternity and may all your actions reciprocate it as you are led by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Jesus wants You

"And you do not keep his message in your hearts, for you do not believe in the one whom he sent. You study the Scriptures, because you think that in them you will find eternal life. And these very Scriptures speak about me!"
John 5:38‭-‬39 GNBDK

Reflection:
Sometimes we behave like the people of old, for we are willing to do everything that is ancillary to Jesus.  But as with God his ways are not our ways. What Jesus wants, is that we establish a relationship with him, for he is the true and living God, and all we need to do is ask, seek and open the door of our hearts.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to seek Jesus Christ his only son. As you open the doors of your heart, may you receive the goodness of his will. May his Holy Spirit be your guide and guard your ways. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

14 March 2018

Believe

"I can do nothing on my own authority; I judge only as God tells me, so my judgement is right, because I am not trying to do what I want, but only what he who sent me wants."
John 5:30 GNBDK

Reflection:
It is so much joy, when you come to a realization that God's will has been revealed; and this is summed up in: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."(John 3:16). This is what the Father wants; he wants you to Believe.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you close to him, so that you can walk in the way, the truth and the light of Jesus his son. And as you believe,  may you be led by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

13 March 2018

Take a Closer Look

Afterwards, Jesus found him in the Temple and said, “Listen, you are well now; so stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”
John 5:14 GNBDK

Reflection:
Sometimes we've got to take a closer look at our circumstances. It may be, that God is trying to get our attention, but the cares of the world have kept us from listening to his voice. Therefore its not just our eyes and ears, but also our mind and heart that we ought to keep open.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father reveals to you the areas in your life, that he wants you to take a better look at. May you reach out to his son Jesus and be made new, washed in his precious blood. And may his Holy Spirit always help you discern God's ways.  Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Lord, only say the word...

Jesus said to him, “Go, your son will live!” The man believed Jesus' words and went. On his way home his servants met him with the news, “Your boy is going to live!” Then the father remembered it was at that very hour that Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” So he and all his family believed.
John 4:50‭-‬51‭, ‬53 GNBDK

Reflection:
Our human hearts, searches for signs at times, where else can we go, but to Jesus: Can we in faith say to him;  Lord only say the word and I shall be healed!
When we believe, it is done according to our faith.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father instills in you a faith so firm and pure, that your heart calls out to Jesus with its every beat. And may his Holy Spirit be the stronghold of your foundation. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

For God so Loved the World

For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.
John 3:16 GNBDK

Reflection:
For God so LOVED the world. Let this sink in you. God Loves YOU. He loves you so much that he sent his only son to pay for your sins. What more can one ask of such love than to just be grateful and respond to this love.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father opens your heart to receive his love poured out in Christ Jesus on the cross. May you in humble obedience always be willing to respond to his love, led by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Knowing God

I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings.
Hosea 6:6 NLT

"I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted."
Luke 18:14 NLT

Reflection:
We often think that we can please God with our sacrifices, but God is more pleased with our humility. Can we acknowledge our sins or forgive the person who hurt us the most? Can we be the first to apologize or can we let go of things we are holding on too?  We all have the knowledge of God, but it is in living his word that we will really know him.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you a heart like his, so that you can see the world with eyes of love and reach out to his people just like Jesus did, letting the world know of Gods love. May his Holy Spirit lead you on always. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Loving God and Neighbour

Jesus replied, “The most important one is this: ‘Listen, Israel! The Lord our God is the only Lord. The second most important commandment is this: ‘Love your neighbour as you love yourself.’ There is no other commandment more important than these two.”
Mark 12:29‭, ‬31 GNBDK

Reflection:
There are two parts to the cross; vertical and horizontal. The symbolic connotation is our relationship with  God and neighbour respectively. If we are to respond to Gods love on the cross, we will keep and honour his Commandments.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to see beyond the horizon, as you take one step at a time each day, loving God and your neighbour just like Jesus. And may his Holy Spirit be with you at all times. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

A Call from Above

"Anyone who is not for me is really against me; anyone who does not help me gather is really scattering."
Luke 11:23 GNBDK

Reflection:
Jesus' life was a call to action, and so has ours to be. We cannot be saying Jesus Jesus and sitting on the fence. Our call to action has to be the love that we've received. In obedience we love God and in service we love our neighbour.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father calls on you, so that you can act in accordance to his will. Like Jesus may you reach out to his children and may his Holy Spirit help you in this endeavour. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Law and Jesus

So then, whoever disobeys even the least important of the commandments and teaches others to do the same, will be least in the Kingdom of heaven. On the other hand, whoever obeys the Law and teaches others to do the same, will be great in the Kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:19 GNBDK

Reflection:
God's love is unconditional, but that doesn't not mean that we can take it for granted. The laws establish the covenant and Jesus is the fulfilment of the covenant. For every choice we make, there will be a consequence.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to accept his unconditional love. May you always value the sacrifice of Jesus as you walk diligently in his ways and may his Holy Spirit be your helper and guide. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to Forgive

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, if my brother keeps on sinning against me, how many times do I have to forgive him? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” answered Jesus, “but seventy times seven.”
Matthew 18:21‭-‬22 GNBDK

Reflection:
A good reminder of how many times we ought to forgive those who sin against us, would be the times we prayed the Our Father. We will never be able to repay the debt of the Jesus for our sins. But every time we forgive the other, we open ourselves to the grace of God and for the forgiveness of our sins.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father opens your heart to receive his grace as pray to him like Jesus asking for forgiveness for the ones that do you wrong. And May you always be led by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

In the Ordinary

But Naaman left in a rage, saying, “I thought that he would at least come out to me, pray to the LORD his God, wave his hand over the diseased spot, and cure me!
2 Kings 5:11 GNBDK

Reflection:
Like Naman we often presume that, for God to work in our lives there has to be something extraordinary. Background music, Slow motion etc etc. But life is not a movie, and we can find God in the ordinary. All we need to do is keep our eyes open, for God will reveal himself to us on his condition and not ours.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to be aware of his presence in your life. Like Jesus may you always give the Father thanks and praise.  May his Holy Spirit help you see the hand of God even in the most simple moments of life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Wisdom of God

For what seems to be God's foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and what seems to be God's weakness is stronger than human strength.
1 Corinthians 1:25

Reflection:
Everyone around Jesus was wanted him to abandon the cross and thought how foolish of him, who claims to be the son of God. But Jesus knew that the forgiveness of sins would come only by his death. The thief on the right who spent just 3 hours with him,  saw it. Can we then, who call ourselves Christians see the same in our own circumstances?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to see his wisdom in all of life's circumstances. Like Jesus may you humbly commend your all into the Father's hands. And may his Holy Spirit help you see the hand of God in all of your life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Coming Back to Senses

So he got up and started back to his father. “He was still a long way from home when his father saw him; his heart was filled with pity, and he ran, threw his arms round his son, and kissed him.
Luke 15:20 GNBDK

Reflection:
We all turn our backs against God, but our God is a good God. All we need to do is come back to our senses and acknowledge our sin. When we take one step towards God, he will take ninety nine and come to us.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father pours out his grace on you as you acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. May you be sustained by His Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to bear fruit

“And so I tell you,” added Jesus, “the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce the proper fruits.”
Matthew 21:43 GNBDK

Reflection:
Our lives are an example to those around us. Even more for the torchbearers of our faith. Understanding God's ways and accepting them in our daily lives is what we are called to, for that is how our lives will bear fruits.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father through his grace calls you to bear fruit as you walk in the path and light of Jesus his son. May his Holy Spirit reveal to you mysteries of God so that you can gain the understanding and act with wisdom and in Love. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Glory of God revealed

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,  but whose delight is in the law of the Lord , and who meditates on his law day and night.
Psalm 1:1‭-‬2 NIV

Reflection:
It is very easy to be drawn to something that is tangible, yet Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Heb 11:1). Jesus knew the storm was coming, yet he put his disciples in the middle of it, so as to reveal to the glory of God. You might be in the storms of life, but know that there is God who is aware of it. Turn to him and He will reveal his Glory.

Prayer:
I pray that you always accept the invitation of God our Father as you take time in prayer and surrender yourself completely. May you draw inspiration from Jesus to live the life you are called to. And may you be strengthen and guided by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)
