Making God your Priority

Jesus answered him, "Whoever loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and my Father and I will come to him and live with him. The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you."
John 14:23‭, ‬26 GNBDK

Reflection:
We can love God by making him a priority in our life, by offering him all that we do, living on his word and receiving his body. This environment is where God would want to dwell and once he sees your heart ready, he will come to reside there. And as for your ministry and purpose, the Holy Spirit will guide you on your way, all you need to be is, receptive to his voice.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you closer to his son Jesus as you surrender yourself completely to the will of God. And may his Holy Spirit guide and guard you always. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to Bear Fruit

Remain united to me, and I will remain united to you. A branch cannot bear fruit by itself; it can do so only if it remains in the vine. In the same way you cannot bear fruit unless you remain in me.
John 15:4 GNBDK

Reflection:
We all get weary using our own strength in the world. But when we walk in the light of God we are called to acknowledge our weakness, and doing so, we are strengthened by His grace and that is how we bear much fruit.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to acknowledge your weakness. May Jesus Christ his son strengthen you with his Grace and may his Holy Spirit bless you in bearing much fruit.  Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

For the Glory of God

I am telling you the truth: those who believe in me will do what I do — yes, they will do even greater things, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask for in my name, so that the Father's glory will be shown through the Son.
John 14:12‭-‬13 GNBDK

Reflection:
Jesus not only wants us to do greater things but also teaches us how to do them. In faith we ask for what we need in Jesus name, knowing fully that what we've asked for will be for the greater glory of God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to call out in the name of Jesus Christ all the impossible. And as you believe may you see the glory of God guided by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

God our Comfort

“Do not be worried and upset,” Jesus told them. “Believe in God and believe also in me.”
John 14:1 GNBDK

Reflection:
There are days, where we find it hard to pray, to stay strong in faith. Jesus knows how we feel and so he tells us too, “Do not be worried and upset”. No matter what your situation is, just know that God loves you so much that he gave his only son, for your Eternal life.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father pours out on you his love raining down from heaven to drench your soul. May Jesus be your source of all help and hope and may his Holy Spirit be your comforter and guide. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

God's Bidding

"I am telling you the truth: whoever receives anyone I send receives me also; and whoever receives me receives him who sent me."
John 13:20 GNBDK

Reflection:
We are created by God for him, and though he has given us a free will to chose, he will do all things to draw you  close to him. All we need to is to be open and attentive to his bidding.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father reveals to you his calling in Christ Jesus his son. May every step you take be discerned and guided by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

25 April 2018

Humility

Humble yourselves, then, under God's mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time. Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6‭-‬7 GNBDK

Reflection:
While we assume that God's love is conditional, it ain't. What He wants us to do is make us more like him.The best example of humility is Jesus on the cross. "If you are the son of God come down" they said to him. Yet he knew because he is the son of God he had to stay up there. When we are poor in Spirit,  the Kingdom of Heaven is ours.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to always stay humble, may you always be aware of the knowledge that you are in the light of Christ. And may his Holy Spirit give you courage, wisdom and knowledge to deal with every situation. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Encourage One Another

When he arrived and saw how God had blessed the people, he was glad and urged them all to be faithful and true to the Lord with all their hearts. Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and many people were brought to the Lord.
Acts 11:23‭-‬24 GNBDK

Reflection:
While we are called to love and serve God, we are also called to the same to our brethren. But the question arises how can we give that if what we do not have? We receive it from God by building a relationship with him. And that is how the world we know we are Christians- by our love.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you to Jesus his son. And as you walk in the truth, the way and the life may you receive the grace for an abundant life. And may his Holy Spirit bless you with wisdom and knowledge as you encourage one another. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

A new creation in Christ

The voice spoke again from heaven, ‘Do not consider anything unclean that God has declared clean.’
Acts 11:9 GNBDK

The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life — life in all its fullness.
John 10:10 GNBDK

Reflection:
When you enter  through Christ,  you enter a new life. All that was, is not anymore, for you are a new creation. But the enemy is there to rob you of this grace and most often we find ourselves living in the past or future ignoring God's gift to us, the present. If only we become more aware of who we are in Christ, the world will become  a better place.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father reveals to you the new person you are in the acceptance of Jesus his son as your saviour and Lord. May his Holy Spirit give you the wisdom and understanding of this truth. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

22 April 2018

Knowing God

I am the good shepherd. As the Father knows me and I know the Father, in the same way I know my sheep and they know me. And I am willing to die for them.
John 10:14‭-‬15 GNBDK

Reflection:
The presence of God is deep rooted within our spirit, even if there is no knowledge of the truth, there is a moral compass within all of us. However, the distractions of the world can get very loud at times, but if our journey is within the truth will be manifested to us, for that is why it was established in the first place.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father brings you to knowledge of the truth in Jesus Christ his son, who is constantly knocking at the door of your heart. And may his Holy Spirit keep you aware at all times of the presence of God in your life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Reciprocating to the Love of God

Many of his followers heard this and said, “This teaching is too hard. Who can listen to it?” Because of this, many of Jesus' followers turned back and would not go with him any more. So he asked the twelve disciples, “And you — would you also like to leave?”
John 6:60‭, ‬66‭-‬67 GNBDK

Reflection:
We all know and understand that God is love and it is this love, that will never enforce its way on you. And like the disciples, the question is posed to us too. How would we reciprocate to his love? Sure it is not conventional, but then again, Jesus has given us his Holy Spirit - our Advocate and Comforter. The choice then is ours to make.

Prayer:
I pray that God Our Father draws you to Jesus his son, in whom is the source of all goodness and joy. May his Holy Spirit help you discern and guide you at all times in life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

20 April 2018

Our Identity in Christ

He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul! Why do you persecute me?” “Who are you, Lord?” he asked. “I am Jesus, whom you persecute,” the voice said.
Acts 9:4‭-‬5 GNBDK

Reflection:
While Paul persecuted the Christians, Jesus asked him, why do you persecute me? And this is our identity in Christ, that whatever we do to one an another we do unto Jesus and we ought to let the world know we are Christians by our Love.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father pours his grace on you,  so that you can hear the voice of Jesus that is calling you to open your heart to Him. May his Holy Spirit nurture you to grow in the love and light of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

18 April 2018

Knowing the Will of God

All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.
John 6:37‭-‬38 NIV

Reflection:
Our human nature persists on the tangible(material) aspects of life, wheres the testimony of the life of Jesus has always been spiritual.  When we come to understand this difference, we come closer to the knowledge of the will of God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father reveals to you his will for your life, as he draws you closer to his son Jesus, in whom we are born to new life. And may his Holy Spirit guard and guide all the days of your life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

17 April 2018

Bread of Life

“I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them. “Those who come to me will never be hungry; those who believe in me will never be thirsty.
John 6:35 GNBDK

Reflection:
When we eat his body, we dwell in perfect union with him who is the bread of life. The body and blood mingles in our bodies in our blood,  healing that longing and ache within our heart. For Christ gives himself at every Eucharist so that we can be nourished mind, body and soul.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father calls you to  the table of his son Jesus Christ as you acknowledge and receive him with a humble and contrite heart. May his Holy Spirit give you the grace to be a worthy ciborium.  Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

16 April 2018

Believe

Jesus answered, “What God wants you to do is to believe in the one he sent.”
John 6:29 GNBDK

Reflection:
There are many who teach in the name of Jesus, and these teachings are sometimes as per convenience. But Christ did not come to abolish the law, but fulfilled it. This truth that has never changed.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father reveals to you his son Jesus, in whom you will find Eternal life, for the Father loves you so much. And may his Holy Spirit give you the attitude of gratitude and humility to accept God's ways. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Bearing Witness To Christ

Jesus said to them, “This is what is written: the Messiah must suffer and must rise from death three days later,  and in his name the message about repentance and the forgiveness of sins must be preached to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.
Luke 24:46‭-‬48 GNBDK

Reflection:
Every time we partake in the sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist we are made new in Christ and Jesus calls to be witnesses. Just as his disciples bore witness that reached us. God has placed where we are to be a part of his salvation story as we bear witness to the abundant life we've received.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you closer to the fount and source of Eternal life in Christ Jesus. May his Holy Spirit give you courage,  wisdom,  knowledge and understanding to bear witness to the abundant life in Jesus Christ. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

14 April 2018

The Word of God

So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”
ACTS 6: 2-3 NIV

Reflection:
Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the word of God said Jesus to rebuke his temptation and He confirmed this when He assured Martha that Mary was doing the right thing listening to the word of God and that wouldn't be taken away from her. The word is and has to be our foundation in accordance to how it has sustained since the time of Christ. Listen

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father reveals to you his word in Jesus his son,  so that you understand your foundation since the beginning of time. And may his Holy Spirit guide you with wisdom and knowledge to the word of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Suffering: The Christian View

As the apostles left the Council, they were happy, because God had considered them worthy to suffer disgrace for the sake of Jesus.
Acts 5:41 GNBDK

Reflection:
The worldview of suffering is far different from what Christ teaches us about suffering. Yet no one would ever want to suffer, especially because they believe in God. But the truth is, our world is broken and suffering is inevitable. The question then should be what do I make of my suffering? The disciples give us the answer inspired by the teachings of Christ Beatitudes.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to understand the teachings  of his Son Jesus who came to fulfill the law. And may his Holy Spirit give you patience, wisdom and understanding in all circumstances of life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

12 April 2018

Obedience: A Response to Love

Peter and the other apostles replied, “We must obey God, not men.
Acts 5:29 GNBDK

Reflection:
God loved us so much that one the biggest gifts he gave us is free will. How we respond to this gift is what Peter and the apostles teach us. For in obeying God we respond to his love.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father through his grace and mercy reveal to you his love for you in Christ Jesus his son, who stretched out his arms on the cross proclaiming his love for you. And may his Holy Spirit keep you comforted with God's love at all times. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

11 April 2018

Understanding the will of God

This is how the judgement works: the light has come into the world, but people love the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds are evil.
John 3:19 GNBDK

Reflection:
I cannot say I love God when I don't love my neighbour. For when I love God, I will know him and his ways.  And the more I know Him, the more I'd want to be like him. Thus in loving my neighbour as I love him, I do the will of God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father moves your heart to understand his will as you come into the light of Jesus Christ his son. May his Holy Spirit stir your heart at all times to obey God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Cross: Our Hope and Victory

As Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the desert, in the same way the Son of Man must be lifted up,  so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
John 3:14‭-‬15 GNBDK

Reflection:
Jesus on the cross is Eternal Life for us. In his dying we are born again to new life. May the cross always remind us of Hope and Victory knowing fully that we are safe within the wounds of Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you to his son Jesus who proclaims his love for you on the cross. May his love be the source of all your doing as you are led by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

09 April 2018

Called to submit our will

“I am the Lord's servant,” said Mary; “may it happen to me as you have said.” And the angel left her.
Luke 1:38 GNBDK

Reflection:
Like Jesus, Mary too submitted her will to God's and in doing so, she now undo's what Eve had done. Can we imitate Jesus and Mary then,  by will willingly say yes to God's plan?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father nourishes you heart and mind with his word,  made flesh in Christ Jesus as you participate in the source and summit of all worship the Holy Eucharist. And may his Holy Spirit strengthen your will to freely give it to the will of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

08 April 2018

Peace of Jesus be with you

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father sent me, so I send you.”
John 20:21 GNBDK

Reflection:
We all live in a troubled world,  a world which robs us of our peace. Jesus knows and understands this, that is why he always greeted his apostles with his peace. But this is peace is not to be kept to oneself for there is a commission on everyone who experiences this peace and that is to share it.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father pours out on his grace so that you can experience the peace of Jesus Christ his son. And may his Holy Spirit  stir your heart to share his peace. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

07 April 2018

Bearing Witness to Christ

Last, of all, Jesus appeared to the eleven disciples as they were eating. He scolded them, because they did not have faith and because they were too stubborn to believe those who had seen him alive. He said to them, “Go throughout the whole world and preach the gospel to the whole human race.
Mark 16:14‭-‬15 GNBDK

Reflection:
While we all know of Jesus as a loving God, he is also tough and strict like a dad, when the need arises. Which brings us to a contemplation; Are we bearing witness to what we believe in Jesus or do we really believe in Jesus?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to bear witness to his son Jesus Christ in whom Salvation is found. And may his Holy Spirit help you believe. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Be Eager for God

The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Peter heard that it was the Lord, he wrapped his outer garment round him (for he had taken his clothes off) and jumped into the water.
John 21:7 GNBDK

Reflection:
Peter dives into sea to get to Jesus quick, for that is how eager He was to meet the Lord. Our thirst for God will determine our eagerness. And it is only those who are thirsty, that their thirst will be quenched.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father calls to the life giving waters in Jesus as you thirst of the Truth. And may his Holy Spirit lead you to ways of Eternal Life.  Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

05 April 2018

Discerning the Word

Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
Luke 24:45 GNBDK

Reflection:
While we read and contemplate on the word of God, it very important to seek assistance of and from whom the word of God has come. Therefore  every time we read the word, we ought to invite the Holy Spirit to help us understand scripture.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father reveals to you the understanding of his word made flesh in Jesus Christ his son.  And may his Holy Spirit always help you to discern the word of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

04 April 2018

Power in the name of Jesus

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”
Acts 3:6 NIV

Reflection:
You may have nothing,  but if you have Jesus you have everything, for from him is abundant life, as He is the bread from Heaven. Whatever you do do it it the name of Jesus, for his name is above all names and there is power in the name of Jesus.

Prayer:
I prayer that you continuously give thanks and praise to God our Father,  for loving you so much, that He gave you his only son Jesus, that you may have eternal life. And may his Holy Spirit direct your path and actions for the greater glory of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

02 April 2018

Repent and Be Baptized

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Acts 2:38 NIV

Reflection:
In sin we distance ourselves from God, but through repentance we pave the wave and through the acceptance  of Jesus we become the prodigal son who came back to his senses and is embraced by his Father.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to repent for all your sins,  as you with a humble and contrite heart accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. And may his Holy Spirit baptize you with fire for the kingdom of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

01 April 2018

Do not be Afraid

“Do not be afraid,” Jesus said to them.
Matthew 28:10a GNBDK

Reflection:
Often we hesitate to meet the Lord,  because many a times we are afraid; off our sins, or change. We become Adam and Eve behind the tree. But Jesus knows our past, present and future and assures us not to be afraid of Him.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you close to Jesus his son. May you yield to the saviour as you keep aside all fears and embrace all the things He makes new in your life. And may his Holy Spirit be with you always. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones:)

Called to Persist in Faith

Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in; he saw and believed. (They still did not understand the scripture which said that he must rise from death.)
John 20:8‭-‬9 GNBDK

Reflection:
There will be instances where we see God's works and believe in him, yet we may fully not understand our place in the salvation story and Jesus knows that, for in his time, he will reveal all that we need to know. Till then we called to persist in our Faith.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to believe in Jesus his son through whom we are the adopted sons of God. May his Holy Spirit strengthen your will and give you the wisdom and courage to persist in Faith. Amen

God Bless and wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy Easter :)
