Jesus is the True Light

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.
Isaiah 9:2 NIV

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12 NIV

There is still lot of darkness in all of the world today, because of sin; Poverty, distress, unrest, doubt etc... yet those who live in the Hope of Christ see the light and his promise. For on that cross as Jesus was there, it was about noon and darkness came over the whole land, the light of the sun had failed, and why did this happen? because Jesus the only sinless human had now taken the sins on the world on Him. But in doing so, He also took away the darkness, for after he gave up his Spirit, the light began to appear and on the third day, the light came into existence forever. No matter how dark you think your situation is, the only light and hope you can find, is in Jesus.

I pray that God our Father leads you to the eternal light his son Jesus so that you may always have the hope you need and may His Holy Spirit protect this hope along your journey. Amen

Are you listening to His Voice

Comm-U-N-I-cation is a two way process and requires two persons on either side. Often we're all longing to listen to the voice of God  but the question is; Are we willing to listen? Are we allowing God to talk to us and tell us how much he loves us and the plans He has for us or are we stuck with the idea that it's our life and we have to base all our decisions on our feelings and most times we're looking for that out of the box feeling to make the right decision. Well God is constantly speaking to us, and that is why Jesus says, "My sheep, listen to my voice..." which translates that he is calling out to them, he is guiding them, he is showing them the way...

Are you listening then ?

I pray that you listen to the voice of God our Father who calls out to you through His son Jesus Christ. And May his Holy Spirit allow you to discern his voice and give you an obedient heart to listen. Amen

Your Mind is God's business

We were created by God in His image and likeness, which is righteousness and holiness, but by Adams disobedience, sin entered our lives, which means we have the knowledge, our minds are aware and thinking. The mind is the greatest assets of mankind, for everything man does, begins with a thought. Therefore it's inevitable that the enemy will want to control your mind for out of your minds thought come your actions. Therefore everytime you have a negative thought in your mind, replace them with God's word, and see the world of difference.

I pray that you yield all your thoughts to the love God our Father has bestowed upon you from the smallest of things to the life of His son Jesus and May his Holy Spirit bring you assurance of all his promises. Amen

There are times when things aren't going to go your way, there are times when you are going to fall, there are times when you will think you are not going to be acceptable by God or perhaps God is no more by your side. These instances are all ploys by the enemy to discourage you and to make you give up the good fight. The biggest test Jesus faced was that when He was on the cross, but He didn't give up instead He submitted His Spirit in his Father's hands. Likewise when you feel the world is closing in on you, take a step back and allow God to work, for God's promises are forever.

I pray that you submit your self unconditionally to the will of God our Father, may the hope that Jesus brings never diminish from your heart not matter the external circumstance, and may His Holy Spirit be your comforter and counselor. Amen

You were created by love, you were created in his image and likeness, you were created for a purpose and all that you were created for will find its way, provided you are willing to obey. As humans our understanding of God's ways will always be limited, for God choses the time and revelation of what we need to know, till then we ought to live by faith and not by sight, for He who began the good work in us by knitting us together in the womb of our mother, by breathing into us life, by pouring out his grace, by moulding us as beings, will bring to fruition all that He has purposed in Christ Jesus.

I pray that God our Father in His bountiful love draw you close to his son Jesus, so that you may be willing and allow God's working in your life as you discern every decision by His Holy Spirit. Amen

You are Work in Progress

He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord . “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel."

Our lives are a gift from God, and to bring it to fruition of its purpose we must be willing submit ourselves to God's will. For in His hands we are like the clay in the hands of a Potter. Imagine the twists and turns the clay goes through while being shaped similarly we too are being shaped into perfection and every time we make choice against the will of God, we go out of shape and this in turn calls for water and additional clay to be added by the Potter for he knows what he wants make out of you. But that is only possible when you submit yourself completely to his will.

I pray that the shaping in your life by the love of God our Father blossoms you into His beautiful creation, that in you is seen the reflection of his son Jesus and May you always glow with his Holy Spirit. Amen

Why Fear, when God is near

Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Don't be afraid or discouraged, for I, the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go.”

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

There will be times where you are going to be challenged, everyone goes through it, even I do. The enemy is always on the prowl waiting for a opportunity to have his way, and his way is to manifest a situation in your life and play in your fears. Fear is not an eventuality, it is only a feeling that tends to make you think of a situation in the negative. But our God is the God of Hope, and that Hope comes from the cross, saying, there is an Easter Sunday on the anvil, the Good Friday is a step towards it. We have nothing to fear for our God is always with us  and this is His promise. So even if walk in the valley of darkness: Do not fear.

I pray that God our Father reveals to you his presence in His son Jesus Christ, may you courageously walk on His chosen path as His Holy Spirit guards and guides you along the way. Amen

Let it Happen, in His Time

Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses.

“I am the Lord's servant,” said Mary; “may it happen to me as you have said.” And the angel left her.

God knows what's best for you and He also knows when it's best for you. When the Angel of the Lord appeared to Mary, the Angel revealed God's plans, but other than that not a single word as to when and why? nor did Mary question the same, Mary did ask how? Which is sign of rational Faith, but after that there is no revelation made to Mary. Likewise we are called to trust God's timing for all the plans He has for us, for he makes all things beautiful in His Time.

I pray that God our Father makes all things beautiful in your life in his time just as He raised his son Jesus from the dead to be seated at his right hand. And may His Holy Spirit give you wisdom and patience along the way. Amen

Trust God to keep his promise

So he told me to go and give the people this message: “No matter how much you listen, you will not understand. No matter how much you look, you will not know what is happening.”

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to come with me, he must forget self, carry his cross, and follow me.

The cross to us believers is a sign of Hope and Victory, yet to many it is a sign of burden n defeat. But God can fulfill his purpose through the worse of human acts, just as He did in the death and resurrection of Jesus, God fulfilled his promise for salvation. Yes we are all called to an Abundant life, But we need faith to look at God's promise for this life. Simply put we need to trust God that he will fullfil his promise. Trust is something that is built by action and our call to action is to deny ourselves and to take up our cross, not once or twice, but every single day. For in the Cross is Hope and Victory and through the Cross God will fullfil his promise for you.

I pray that God our Father gives you the understanding to the acceptance of your cross, and like Jesus may you graciously accept it knowing fully that's God's promise is being fulfilled. And may His Holy Spirit strengthen you along the way. Amen

Choices and Consequences

So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company:

By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
Heb 11:8‭, ‬10 NIV

If you are driving down a highway, you will often find exits to two directions east or west. Your choice often depends on where you want to go, but all its takes is a decision to choose. In life we are faced we many choices, but it's the choice we make that will determine  the consequences not just for us but for our generations to come. Adam chose to eat the apple, mankind had to bear original sin. Abraham chose to offer Issac, God blessed him with descendants as many as sand on shore. Although we all have free will, when we say Father let your will be done, we allow what God consequences in our life. And surely God has plans for our good. As Jesus said yes to the cross, we inherited eternal life.

I pray that you seek in all earnestness the will of God our Father in your life, and like Jesus may you be obedient to His will. May his Holy Spirit give you courage and strength in remaining faithful to your yes to the Father's will. Amen

Be Good like God

A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.

But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’  For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

What we do in our daily lives is, is like laying the foundation for our life in Eternity. The quality with how we build is that what we will get. When life's choices get tough, know that it is call for discernment, for at the end of the day God sees your intention more than the action. If the intention is right so also will the action be, it's kinda interconnected.
You may think that I need to say my list of prayers every day and one of my prayers is that my neighbor is not successful! What do you think God is going to do about that? God could have condemned you and me. But he chose mercy for us by dying for our sins, likewise we are called to do good, and that good begins in our intentions.

I pray that the goodness of God our Father always be a source of inspiration and strength for you. Like Jesus may you constantly turn to God in Thanksgiving and may your heart discern all that is told to you by his Holy Spirit. Amen

Trust God with every step

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

The walk with Christ is often assumed to be that like how the world anticipates; money, fame and adulation. But that is not the truth. The truth is Jesus and he said, "If you wish to be my disciple, you must deny your self, carry your cross and follow me." Our goal is eternal, what no man has seen, therefore to go there why would we do stuff that is temporary and not fulfilling. We have a choice to be made, to deny ourselves of what we would want, and do as it pleases God, no matter the pain or how tough the choice is. We have to take up our cross, every single day in order to be like Christ. And this we cannot achieve in our own, we have to Trust God and lean on Him.

I pray that God our Father pours out on you His Wisdom and understanding, that you accept your cross, just like Jesus did, so that through you God may fulfill his purpose. And in this endeavor may 'His Holy Spirit be your counsel to every step you take. Amen

Don't Worry, Be Happy

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

From the very beginning God had everything in control, yet He did not control things. The earth he made was put into place and it is still functioning. God made man, but man disobeyed God. Do you think God didn't know that He would be disobeyed? God knows every detail  about the very first and last breath of you. Your story has already been written, it's about how much you trust God with the plans he has for you. For what worrying does is create doubt in your mind, and then the irrationality sets in, then you'd eat the forbidden fruit. God wants you to be Happy, and the only way to be Happy is not to worry.

I pray that the love of God our Father brings Happiness galore that you cannot contain and like Jesus may you be obedient to His word and not worry about anything. May his Holy Spirit be your best friend and guide. Amen

For the love of God

There are two children who ask their father things to eat, one asks for a packet of chips and the other asks to be taken at home to eat what mum has cooked. Now obviously the Father knows that chips won't do good to his child, and denies his request, instead He takes both of them hope to the lovely meal cooked by their mum. Now one of them did ask for the same and his request was adhered  too. Sometimes we look at life in our own understanding, perhaps like that child who didn't get the packet of chips might feel the Father loved the other child more, but that's far from the truth. God's denials or delays are not a rejection to your prayer, infact it is His love that is gives you what is best for you, and thou you may not understand it now, like the boy, when he grows up and becomes a father, he will see the goodness of that decision.

I pray that you see that love of God our Father in every situation of your life. Like Jesus, you see God's love even on a cross and may His Holy Spirit give you the understanding to the acceptance of God's love. Amen

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38‭-‬39 NIV

Let everything within you Bless and Praise God, for his love for you endures forever. He is constantly pouring out his grace on you, so as to draw you near to Him. But somewhere down the line, we harden our hearts, assuming we know well, what's good for us and in doing so we close ourselves to his grace. When Jesus prayed, he always began by giving Thanks no matter the circumstance, and that attitude of gratitude is what we are all called to have, because every single breath we breathe is a gift from God and thus with every beat of our heart we give him thanks and bless his Holy name.

I pray that you see the love and grace being poured out on you by  God our Father, and like Jesus may you give Thanks for every circumstance in your life knowing fully that God is in control. And may His Holy Spirit bring your life to its God purposed fruition. Amen

Take Refuge in His word

As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord ’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.
Psalm 18:30 NIV

But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Mt 13:23 NIV

God has made us accessible to Him in his word, it is the very word that was made flesh and dwelt amongst us, it is the very word that proclaimed the way, the truth and the life. So how do we take refuge in the word when we don't understand it at times; we ask him who wrote and spoke the word to reveal it to us, in this manner we get from the very source itself 'The Holy Spirit'. You have to want what the Spirit of God wants from you and you must want it now, no tomorrow, no delays... And then you will begin to bear fruit, thirty, sixty or at times even hundred.

I pray that the word of God our Father sinks deep into your heart bringing to you the revelation in His Son Jesus Christ. And may you always pay heed to the voice of His Holy Spirit. Amen

God wants the best for you...

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

It's not always going to be a smooth ride, just because God is on your side, after all God wants you to become a skillful sailor, which is why the winds blow and the boat rocks even whilst Jesus is in the very same boat. So, how do we hone our skill? With Faith, and although sometimes we may question the happenings we are called to take it in prayer to the Father, and tell him all that we feel. You got to be real with Him for the He already knows your story, and He will give you the strength to do His will. And then like a skillful sailor you will navigate through not just any but many of life's stormy weather just as God willed, thus bring your purpose of life to its fruition.

I pray that God our Father reveal to you all that He wills for your life and may you draw strength from His son Jesus in saying Yes to all He wills and May his Holy Spirit give you courage and wisdom to stay on course. Amen.

You can Trust God with everything

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

In our everyday lives we going to face different situations and circumstances but that doesn't mean that God is changing his plan for us, the consequences of the changes are, our actions and we're called to accept rather than react too or try fighting the situation. It is only imperative that you trust God with all that is happening, bec He is working out all things for your good, because you love him. Yes it's good to question, but let Him give you the answer, don't get it from another source cos sometimes the source may just want to deviate you from God's plan for your life.

I pray that the Love of God our Father erase every doubt in your life, so as to keep you in Faith to the truth and life in His son Jesus Christ. May his Holy Spirit be your counsel and guide. Amen

The Shepherds Sheep

Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his ; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Psalm 100:3 NIV

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
John 10:11 NIV

Although docile and harmless, sheep's have a very peculiar quality in them, they recognize the voice of their Shepherd, even if there are two Shepherds talking in a similar tone, they will flock to the one they belong. Similarly we are the Father's sheep and Jesus is our True Shepherd, and we have to tune in to recognize his voice, for there many out there who are laying a trap in His name. But as his flock, we ought to know His voice and pay heed to His call.

I pray that God our Father blesses you with wisdom and understanding so as to recognize His son Jesus and answer the call and may His Holy Spirit help you discern the true voice. Amen

What a Joy !!!

When you are Happy it is because something on the exterior has given you a reason to do so. The moment the exterior factor is non existent so does the happiness quotient diminish. But this is not the same when you have Christ in you, because with Him comes the unexplainable joy, that doesn't diminish based on external factors but is always hopefully that something big is in store. Even if there bends, you know, it's not the end and we are called to experience this, only, if we allow Christ to live in us.

I pray that God our Father may reveal to your heart His plan for you. May you like Jesus be hopeful and thankful to the Father at all times and may His Holy Spirit speak to you. Amen

Jesus loved everyone not based on the person's background, status or personal history. He loved Peter as much as he loved Lazarus, he loved Martha as much as he loved Mary. Jesus' love was based on selflessness, and that is how he want us to love. But often we are concoctioned into worldly ways of what love is to be, and today struggle to love without reason. He was kind, patient, generous and not self seeking. That is how we are called to love and if we are looking for a reason to love, let the reason be Love.

I pray that you experience in the most mundane tasks the abounding Love of God our Father, and like Jesus may you spread that love around and may His Holy Spirit warm your heart with his fiery love. Amen

Lay your foundation in God

He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.

When the foundation of a building is dug deep and well and laid strong, not only can the building can be raised to heights, but it can also withstand any kinds of weather. Similarly when we lay all our hope, faith and trust in God in all sincerity, we lay a foundation that's build to last. Yes the weather will keep changing but you ought to know that your foundation is in Him who made the very weather, therefore all you can do is cast it unto him for He cares for you.

I pray that in you is built a strong foundation of the Abundant Love of God our Father, and like Jesus may you offer up to Him everything that comes your way. And may His Holy Spirit, be your guiding light. Amen

God has great plans for you

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The entire creation of the world is God's plan; a plan, a design well thought out for the good of Man. So much that God gave man the power of choice in the form of Free will. And this is perhaps where God is constantly at work. God has great plans to each one of us, but the moment we disobey, we alter God's plans for us. But God loved the world so much, that He sent His only son, to make up for his plan for you and me, that in Christ obedience our disobedience may be washed away.

I pray that you be open to the working of God out Father's plan for you in your life. Like Jesus may you be obedient to God's word, and may His Holy Spirit continuously be by your side to help you discern God's will for you. Amen

Gods Word

The simplicity in Mary's Yes and the call to obedience to the word of God is an assurance that there is nothing above, beneath or beyond the word of God. And this mystery is seen the birth, life, death and resurrection of the very word which was made flesh in Christ Jesus. Therefore we are called to the life of Abundance in the word. When you live in the word and the word in you, life takes on a new meaning and every situation or circumstance now seems ready to be faced. And in doing so we give glory to God by living His word.

I pray that God's word be sunk into the very recesses of your heart, and may you be obedient like Jesus in answering the call. May your life be governed and gaurded by His Holy Spirit. Amen

Called to Love

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Love it was that made us and it was love that saved us. Love was God's plan when He made man, God's divine nature is Love.
And, it is in this image and likeness of his nature we humans were created, we were created by Him, and for Him for all eternity. But God didn't want puppets, He wanted real people who are created in His nature, so God gave man a free will. But God also gave us a commandment, that we love one another as He loved us.

I pray that you experience in your everyday life the immense Love of God our Father and like Jesus may you reflect and share with all you meet His love and mercy. And may this your endeavor be brought to fruition by His Holy Spirit. Amen

Ask, Seek, Knock

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you..."

He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes  so that it will be even more fruitful.
John 15:2 NIV

If you were to ask your Dad a gun, saying you want take revenge, He (sane dad) wouldn't give it to you. Nor would your Mum (sane mum), give you abusive substances if you asked her for it, to have good time. Similarly God is not going to give you something that's not good for you and it could be anything... Why? because it's not good for you and God wants not just the good but the BEST for you.
So how do we ask God for our needs, we simply prayer 'let not ours, by thy will be done'. In doing so, we will then bear fruit, fruit that will last.

I pray that you seek God our Father's will in importunity. And like Jesus submit your self completely to Him as He moulds, prunes and shapes you with His Holy Spirit. Amen

Your Perfect Happiness

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

There is nothing as good and pleasing and perfect as the will of God, for it is in His will that we find our true and perfect Happiness, even if it means dying on a cross, which is why in the first place, as Christians we are called to take up our cross. The cross is not a sign of defeat and loss. It is a symbol of Hope and Promise. Your cross will never be heavier than what you can carry, for the very strength given to you to carry it, comes from God. Therefore we are all called to say yes to God's will.

I pray that God our Father's love build in you the strength to carry your cross as you say yes like Jesus to God's will in your life. May every step you take be governed by His Holy Spirit. Amen

Gods word endures forever

Have you ever felt like there was no hope? Have you have felt God has distanced himself from you? Have you ever felt what am I here for? well the truth is everyone on earth goes through these feelings at some point in life, sometimes even repeatedly. So what do you do then ? You look at the Sun, this bright star that makes the difference between day and night was spoken into existence by God. And you look at God's Son 'Jesus'. He is the word made flesh and in Him is all hope, for He wants you to be like Him; one day at a time and He assures us, that He is with us till the very end of time.

I pray that God our Father's word always endure in your life, so that you make take evey step in confidence like His Son Jesus, knowing fully that His Holy Spirit is by your side. Amen

Everything is willed by God

The Lord Almighty has sworn, “Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen.
Isaiah 14:24 NIV

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
Mt 26:39 NIV

God's way aren't out ways and nor are his thoughts are thoughts, we often in our human intellect want to fit all his doing into our understanding, but how can we do so? Unless God doesn't choose to reveal it you all, you cannot comprehend his doing.
So what can we do then ? In such a circumstance we can choose to submit fully to Him, just like Jesus did, so that He can bring to fruition all that He has willed, planned and purposed. For that is how his people were bought out of slavery, that is how Christ was raised from the dead and that is how we will enter into eternity.

I pray that you submit wholly to the will of the Father like his son Jesus  so that your life may reach its intended fruition willed by God, And may you be strengthen along the way by His Holy Spirit. Amen

Called to God's Grace

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;  it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
Lam 3:25‭-‬26 NIV

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Cor 12:9 NIV

The need for salvation is for all, but only the one who acknowledges it will be saved. Why would you drink water when you are not thirsty?  Thirst is a sign from the body that acknowledges that water is needed  and likewise sin is our sign of weakness that acknowledges the need for salvation that comes from Christ. Therefore, in moments we are the weakest, let us depend on Him, who bore our weakness. And by this we will be strengthen to a new life in Christ, whom God first rose from the dead.

I pray that you are strengthen by the Grace of God our Father which is poured out on all, like Jesus his son who took up his cross by the same Grace. And may His Holy Spirit guard and guide your heart in heeding his call. Amen

Called to be children of God

They know nothing, they understand nothing; their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see, and their minds closed so they cannot understand.
Isaiah 44:18 NIV

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
Mt 11:25 NIV

Children always speak the truth, but they speak the truth because they acknowledge it. Perhaps this is why Jesus, thanked his Father for revealing the truth to children. But this brings us to the question; who is a child? A child is the one who acknowledges the truth, and truth is that we are sinners.
The truth of Christ dying on the cross remains just a historical event and the world becomes our home unless we do not acknowledge our sinful nature , for once we do, the cross then becomes our Hope and the world a transitional place for life in Eternity.

I pray that God the Father pours his Grace on you revealing to you the truth as you find Hope in His son Jesus. May you be led to your eternal calling by His Holy Spirit. Amen
