Being Obedient

Children, it is your Christian duty to obey your parents, for this is the right thing to do.
Ephesians 6:1 GNBDK

Reflection:
Obedience is key to God, for He values it more than sacrifice. While something done can't be undone. We ought to understand that, had Adam being obedient, Christ wouldn't have to suffer and die. Let us than practice obedience just as Jesus did.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the heart to be obedient to his word made flesh in Christ Jesus. And may his Holy Spirit be by your side at all times. Amen

Gods love

There is a deep secret truth revealed in this scripture, which I understand as applying to Christ and the church. But it also applies to you: every husband must love his wife as himself, and every wife must respect her husband.
Ephesians 5:32‭-‬33 GNBDK

Reflection:
Matrimony is God's visible sign of his invisible grace. And through it we are called to experience his love. The importance that God gives matrimony is for us to understand that those within the sacrament represent God's love to their spouse.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to understand his word made flesh through Jesus Christ his son. And may his Holy Spirit bless you with wisdom. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

You yourselves used to be in the darkness, but since you have become the Lord's people, you are in the light. So you must live like people who belong to the light.

Call Out to Jesus

When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus! Son of David! Take pity on me!”  Many of the people scolded him and told him to be quiet. But he shouted even more loudly, “Son of David, take pity on me!”
Mark 10:47‭-‬48 GNBDK

Reflection:
In our journey of faith, many a times we will face roadblocks of different forms; discouragement, failure, doubt. But know that Jesus has overcome all,  even death. And so we must at all times have the confidence to call out to Jesus. And he will answer our call.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to call out to Jesus in every situation. As you do so may your life be guided and governed by his Holy Spirit. Amen

So he said to his gardener, ‘Look, for three years I have been coming here looking for figs on this fig tree, and I haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it go on using up the soil?’
Luke 13:7 GNBDK

Reflection:
Each one of us has been given a gift from God, and these gifts we ought to give away so that we can build his kingdom. When we give anything less than our best we sacrifice our gift. Therefore let us give as God has given to us.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to be generous with your gifts so that you can build Jesus's  kingdom as you are guided by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

"And you can be sure that if the owner of a house knew the time when the thief would come, he would not let the thief break into his house. And you, too, must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you are not expecting him."
Luke 12:39‭-‬40 GNBDK

The Gift from God

Jesus answered him, “My friend, who gave me the right to judge or to divide the property between you two?”  And he went on to say to them all, “Watch out and guard yourselves from every kind of greed; because a person's true life is not made up of the things he owns, no matter how rich he may be.”
Luke 12:14‭-‬15 GNBDK

Reflection:
We often give priority to the things of the world and the desires of our flesh. But ought to know and remember that we shall take nothing with us. Salvation is gift from God, and it's only when we submit our will to God's, we align ourselves to everything that comes from God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to be submissive like Jesus his son, may you always be willing to take up and carry your on cross as you yield to his Holy Spirit. Amen

Go Out into the World

Jesus drew near and said to them, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,  and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18‭-‬20 GNBDK

Reflection:
The authority comes from Christ, the words and works from his Spirit. And when you experience this, your cup is filled. When your cup begins to overflow you will find yourself unable to contain the love that comes from God. That's when you know it is time to go out and make new disciples as you share the love of God.

God in Thought, Word and Deed

So the Lord said to him, "Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of your cup and plate, but inside you are full of violence and evil. Fools! Did not God, who made the outside, also make the inside?"
Luke 11:39‭-‬40 GNBDK

The truth is meant to set you free

Freedom is what we have — Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again.
Galatians 5:1 GNBDK

Reflection:
Christ came so that we may live, and live a life of abundance. But the cares and worries of the world makes us slaves to this life. Do not be conformed to the world, but have faith that transcends beyond human understanding as you seek the truth and the truth will set you free.

Wisdom from God

Realizing that I was only human, I prayed and was given understanding. The spirit of Wisdom came to me.
Wisdom 7:7 GNBDK

The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It cuts all the way through, to where soul and spirit meet, to where joints and marrow come together. It judges the desires and thoughts of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 GNBDK

Reflection:
The word of God is active and alive, but no human knowledge can comprehend it. For human nature fell with sin, but in God's wisdom, it was redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus. Therefore ask and you shall receive wisdom from God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father heeds your prayer for wisdom and understanding as you seek his word, made flesh in Christ Jesus his son. And may his Holy Spirit help you discern God's will at all times. Amen

Faith in Christ Jesus

It is through faith that all of you are God's children in union with Christ Jesus. So there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles, between slaves and free people, between men and women; you are all one in union with Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:26‭, ‬28 GNBDK

Reflection:
Salvation is a free gift from God, on our merit we can do nothing to inherit it. It is only through faith in Christ Jesus that doors of heaven will be open. Closed hands cannot receive anything, one has to open them to receive. Similarly it is through our faith that we believe and are made one with Christ.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the humility to believe in things beyond the realm of the flesh. May Jesus Christ his son be your light and path to salvation and may his Holy Spirit be with you at all times. Amen

Called to be doing Christian

"Anyone who is not for me is really against me; anyone who does not help me gather is really scattering."
Luke 11:23 GNBDK

Reflection:
Jesus is very clear, as Christians we have to be ‘doing’ rather than just ‘saying’. Christ himself lead us by submitting his will to the Father by washing the feet of his disciples and carrying his cross. Sin is not only when we do wrong, not doing good is also a sin - sin of omission. Therefore let's stand for God as we gather his kingdom.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to submit your will to him. May you be lead by Jesus in every aspect of your life and may his Holy Spirit bless you at all times. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Ask for Divine Providence

“And so I say to you: ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.  For all those who ask will receive, and those who seek will find, and the door will be opened to anyone who knocks.  Bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Luke 11:9‭-‬10‭,13 GNBDK

Reflection:
We often hesitate to ask or we asking for the wrong things. As a parent you will never oblige your child's request for a revolver. And so it is with God, while he provides us with every blessing, He also wants us to be led by his Spirit, therefore when you ask of the Spirit, it will be given unto you.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father blesses you with Divine Providence as you yield to Jesus in doing the will of God through his Holy Spirit. Amen

The Lords Prayer

Jesus said to them, “When you pray, say this: ‘Father: May your holy name be honoured;  may your Kingdom come. Give us day by day the food we need. Forgive us our sins, for we forgive everyone who does us wrong.  And do not bring us to hard testing.’ ”
Luke 11:2‭-‬4 GNBDK

Reflection:
There are times when, we cannot pray, and there are times where we don't feel like praying. But we ought to know that it is pray that unties us with God, and Jesus himself taught us to pray. So every time you feel lost about prayer, reach out to God with Lord's prayer.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to be in union with him at all times, may you be like Jesus always taking time out to pray. And may his Holy Spirit intercede for you. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Luke 10:27 GNBDK

Reflection:
The Love for God is incomplete without the love for neighbour, because God decreed that love be in action and so He sent his only son as a ransom for the world. We are all called to be kind to our neighbors.

"No human being then must separate what God has joined together."
Mark 10:9 GNBDK

Reflection:
Our world has been put together by God and through the sacrament of matrimony he has set in motion his plans for generations. But man by nature thinks only about himself and many a times in doing so, we are not only distrupting God's plans but also going against his word.

Prayer
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to humbly accept his plan for your life, may the acceptance of Jesus bring you peace and contentment. And may his Holy Spirit reveal to you the marvellous works of God in your life. Amen

The Wisdom of God

At that time Jesus was filled with joy by the Holy Spirit and said, “Father, Lord of heaven and earth! I thank you because you have shown to the unlearned what you have hidden from the wise and learned. Yes, Father, this was how you wanted it to happen.
Luke 10:21 GNBDK

Reflection:
Earthly knowledge is limited to ones studies and exposure in the world. But the wisdom that comes from God is beyond any limitations. And this wisdom is given to those who are open to the will of God. For in order to accomplish his will, God our Father will equip you well.

Psalm 139:13‭-‬14A NIV

At times you may feel that life happened to you by mistake and chances are these thoughts arise when the chips are low. But in all circumstances we ought to know and remember that we were individually created by God, and God doesn't make mistakes. Out of love and for a purpose He has made us.

Choosing God

But whenever you go into a town and are not welcomed, go out in the streets and say, ‘Even the dust from your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. But remember that the Kingdom of God has come near you!’ I assure you that on Judgement Day God will show more mercy to Sodom than to that town!
Luke 10:10‭-‬12 GNBDK

Reflection:
While we all have been given a free will to make our choices, but we must be aware that every choice we make will have its own consequence. God has set the world in motion and he will not take away our free will. He cautions us about the consequence of rejecting his word. What then will we freely choose?

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to believe in his word made flesh in Christ Jesus his son. As you accept him as your Lord and Saviour, may his Holy Spirit rest upon you. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Luke 9:62 GNBDK

All Glory to God

Then Job stood up and tore his clothes in grief. He shaved his head and threw himself face downwards on the ground. He said, “I was born with nothing, and I will die with nothing. The LORD gave, and now he has taken away. May his name be praised!”  In spite of everything that had happened, Job did not sin by blaming God.
Job 1:20‭-‬22 GNBDK

Reflection:
There might be very challenging times in your life, but these times are a times of test, for even the purity of Gold is tested by fire. While on earth we are more inclined to the flesh. We ought to live knowing we have come with nothing, and we'll take nothing when we go.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father opens your heart to his grace and like Jesus may you submit your will in His hands. And may his Holy Spirit help you in all your endeavours. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)
