Humility and Faith

The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed."
Matthew 8:8 NIV

Reflection:
I can have all the faith in the world,  but if I am not humble, I block the grace of God. Humility precedes faith, and we ought to understand this and allow God to work his ways in our lives. In humility Jesus accepted his cross, having faith in God, as Christians we are called to do the same.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the Grace to live in humility of Heart like Jesus his son. May you always trust God's ways beyond all understanding as you surrender yourself to his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

God our Protector

And the Lord will rescue me from all evil and take me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. To him be the glory for ever and ever! Amen.
2 Timothy 4:18 GNBDK

Reflection:
Peter and Paul zealously preached the Gospel and the one thing they were confident of, is the protection from God. We too, are called to trust in God's protection. For up until we fulfill our purpose here on earth, Gods mighty hand will always be upon us. All we need to do is, believe.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to submit yourself totally to his care. May you always stay close to the heart of Jesus and may his Holy Spirit assure you of God's mighty hand of protection at all times. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

True Christianity

"Not everyone who calls me ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only those who do what my Father in heaven wants them to do."
Matthew 7:21 GNBDK

Reflection:
The teachings of Jesus are beyond religion and piety, while in their own right they must be practiced. True Christianity is allowing God to work through you, it is the free submission of your will to the Father's. It is then that you will actually do, what God really wants you to do, be it forgiving the wrong done to you, or sharing with the less fortunate or loving those that are entrusted to your care.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father changes your heart so as to be open to his calling. Like Jesus may you submit your will to His. And may his Holy Spirit assist you in living your purpose as you do what God really wants you to. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Bearing Good Fruit

A healthy tree bears good fruit, but a poor tree bears bad fruit.  So then, you will know the false prophets by what they do.
Matthew 7:17‭, ‬20 GNBDK

Reflection:
We are all called to be witnesses to Christ, but more than our words it is our actions that matter. For the Christian life is easier preached than lived. As Christians we ought to be know for our love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, thus bearing good fruit.

Prayer:
I prayer that God our Father gives you the wisdom to walk in the way, the truth and the light of his son Jesus as you bear witness to Christ. And may his Holy Spirit bless you with its fruits. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Standing for the Truth

"Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it.  But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it."
Matthew 7:13‭-‬14 GNBDK

Reflection:
Just because it is popular culture, it does not become right. As Christians we have to be aware of truth at all times and stand our ground. It is very easy to get carried away especially when the flow or the heard is in one direction. But Jesus wants us to be like him and choose the path less taken.

Prayer:
I pray that you pay heed to the call from God our Father and set your self apart. May always look up to Jesus for strength to stand up for the truth. And may his Holy Spirit teach God's ways. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Do not Judge

"Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you, for God will judge you in the same way as you judge others, and he will apply to you the same rules you apply to others."
Matthew 7:1‭-‬2 GNBDK

Reflection:
It is easier judging someone else's action than our own, but we got to be cautious, because judgement will be meted out to us in the same way. God is merciful, but God is also Just God. The best way of putting this practice into action is remembering the words of Jesus, 'He who has not sinned may cast the first stone'.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the wisdom to be humble like Jesus and to see everyone as God sees us. And may his Holy Spirit help is discern our thoughts, words and deeds. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Uniquely You

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Psalm 139:13‭-‬14 NIV

Reflection:
Each one of us, are a workmanship of God. We are created so uniquely that even twins don't have the same finger prints. And this leads us to our purpose of creation, each one of us is created for a different purpose. Moses was created to set God's people free from slavery, John the Baptist - to preach a new repentance. Likewise we too have one and the only way we'd find ours is when we journey within and seek him who created us.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the sense of understanding of who you really are. May you always see yourself as a child of God just like Jesus. And may his Holy Spirit help you find your purpose in life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Seeking First, The Kingdom of God

"This is why I tell you not to be worried about the food and drink you need in order to stay alive, or about clothes for your body. After all, isn't life worth more than food? And isn't the body worth more than clothes? Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things."
Matthew 6:25‭, ‬33 GNBDK

Reflection:
God is not calling us to become hermits. Instead, he wants us to experience him in a very personal way,  like a lover. When you get to know God in that way, it is then, that change takes place at the core, and then the chase for heavenly things begin. And in all of this God will meet your needs, for he is your creator, your provider and your Saviour.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father draws you close to Jesus so that you can encounter him in the most intimate way as come into a union with him. And may his Holy Spirit direct your path, taking care of your every need. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Your Hearts Desire

"Do not store up riches for yourselves here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and robbers break in and steal. Instead, store up riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal. For your heart will always be where your riches are."
Matthew 6:19‭-‬21 GNBDK

Reflection:
We often fail to realise that all that we chase here on earth is only temporary. We will eventually leave everything and go back to where we came from.  But that does not mean that we do not live meaningful lives. We are all called to be driven by purpose, and that is knowing God and his ways. For once we do,  we will live in accordance thus storing up treasures in heaven.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father strengthens your heart to do his will,  like Jesus may you always do the things for the greater glory of God and may his Holy Spirit help you in this your endeavour. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Praying as Jesus Taught

This, then, is how you should pray:  ‘Our Father in heaven: May your holy name be honoured; may your Kingdom come; may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need. Forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us. Do not bring us to hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One.’
Matthew 6:9‭-‬13 GNBDK

Reflections:
Jesus teaches us how to pray and through this prayer there three facets that stand out, namely: Praise,  Forgiveness and Petition. We ought to Praise God at all times and in all circumstances. Forgiveness cleanses are soul, and it is only in forgiving others that we will be forgiven. And lastly Petition, God is our Father and knows of our every need and we can ask of him without any hesitation.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to pray as Jesus taught. May you praise God in all circumstances as you willingly forgive those who wrong you. And may his Holy Spirit help you ask of God's will for your life. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Keeping it Personal

"Make certain you do not perform your religious duties in public so that people will see what you do. If you do these things publicly, you will not have any reward from your Father in heaven."
Matthew 6:1 GNBDK

Reflection:
All our offerings (prayers, sacrifices and works of charity) to God are based on the disposition of our hearts. And God sees our intentions more than our actions. If we really want to please God, then we ought to do as He says and keep our personal offerings private.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you a humble and a generous heart, so that like Jesus you too may offer all you do for the greater glory of God. And may his Holy Spirit bless you with knowledge, wisdom and purity of heart. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to be Perfect

But now I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,  so that you may become the children of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun to shine on bad and good people alike, and gives rain to those who do good and to those who do evil. You must be perfect — just as your Father in heaven is perfect!
Matthew 5:44‭-‬45‭, ‬48 GNBDK

Reflection:
None of us are perfect, our human imperfection is our inclination to sin. But Jesus is the truth, the way and the life and it's through his grace that we are called to strive for perfection. Just as he prayed for those who put him on the cross, we too are called to do the same.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father, draws you to his son Jesus who makes all things new, as you submit yourself into his precious hands. And may his Holy Spirit assist you as you strive to be who God created you to be. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Gods Ways

"You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ But now I tell you: do not take revenge on someone who wrongs you. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, let him slap your left cheek too."
Matthew 5:38‭-‬39 GNBDK

Reflection:
We are not called to be doormats, that is not the definition of humility in fact we ought to take a stand in matters of injustice, but it is our actions that define humility. God's ways our not our ways, and what Jesus is trying to tell us here is that the battle belongs to him, all we need to do is take a stand without giving in to sin and turn to him  for consolation.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father reveals to his ways, like Jesus may you always walk in his light and truth, humbly acknowledging God for all your Blessings. And may his Holy Spirit teach you to diligently to deal with every kind of situation. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Our Journey on Earth

More than anything else, however, we want to please him, whether in our home here or there. For all of us must appear before Christ, to be judged by him. We will each receive what we deserve, according to everything we have done, good or bad, in our bodily life.
2 Corinthians 5:9‭-‬10 GNBDK

Reflection:
Our journey here on earth is a limited one. It will move to that sphere we all deeply desire, namely eternity. But in eternity, where we will be is all based on how we live our life here. We can choose to be ignorant of God or we can diligently pursue Him. The choice is ours alone.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the understanding of your journey here on earth. May you find all the strength you need in Jesus his son. And may his Holy Spirit help your faith, keeping you humble and aware of God at all times. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Words and Vows

Just say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ — anything else you say comes from the Evil One.
Matthew 5:37 GNBDK

Reflection:
The words we use matter a lot to God.  For through his word He created the universe, through his word God saved us. When we give our word, we ought to honour it, for we are created in his image and likeness. Hence our yes has yes and no has to be no.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you a heart full of joy so that as you speak you may bring joy and peace to all just like Jesus his son.  And may his Holy Spirit give you the words you ought speak. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Disposition of your Heart

So if your right eye causes you to sin, take it out and throw it away! It is much better for you to lose a part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into hell.
Matthew 5:29 GNBDK

Reflection:
God wants us to away from sin, but its not that he wants you to literally pluck out your eye. What matters to God is the disposition of your hearts. And so you ought to be aware of the presence of God in your life and act in accordingly, thus keeping you away from sin.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the understanding of his ways, as you submit to Jesus allowing him to abide in you. And may his Holy Spirit guard and guide your path. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Offering a Gift

So if you are about to offer your gift to God at the altar and there you remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar, go at once and make peace with your brother, and then come back and offer your gift to God.
Matthew 5:23‭-‬24 GNBDK

Reflection:
You cannot say I love you Lord,  when you have hate for another. Jesus is very clear about this, yes it is difficult,  but not impossible. Think of Jesus on the cross, he was taunted to come down, yet he pleaded for their forgiveness.  And so it is with us,  if we want to please God, we've got to love our neighbour.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father opens your heart to receive his grace and mercy.  So that like Jesus you too may Love God and neighbour alike. And may his Holy Spirit always keep you humble of heart. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Fulfilling the Law

"Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets. I have not come to do away with them, but to make their teachings come true."
Matthew 5:17 GNBDK

Reflection:
Yes, there is forgiveness of sins, but it doesn't mean that you can take God's mercy for granted. While moses said,  "Thou shall not kill". Jesus adds that hate equals to murder and accordingly we will be judged.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the humility to renounce the flesh and live by the spirit just like Jesus,  giving thanks and praise in all circumstances. And as you submit your will to the Father, may you always be led by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Divine Providence

For this is what the LORD , the God of Israel, says: ‘The bowl will not run out of flour or the jar run out of oil before the day that I, the LORD , send rain.’ ” The widow went and did as Elijah had told her, and all of them had enough food for many days. As the LORD had promised through Elijah, the bowl did not run out of flour nor did the jar run out of oil.
1 Kings 17:14‭-‬16 GNBDK

Reflections:
Our lord is aware of us individually and all our blessings be it our family, our work, our finances is his providence. And we are called to do what he wants us to do and to be grateful with all that he has provided. For the lord knows what we need and what we want.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father blesses you abundantly with all the desires of your heart. And may your desire be to seek his son Jesus and establish with him a real and lasting relationship. And may his Holy Spirit help you discern the Lords ways. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Christianity

When he found him, he took him to Antioch, and for a whole year the two met with the people of the church and taught a large group. It was at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians.
Acts 11:26 GNBDK

Reflection:
The foundation of Christianity has been as much traditional as much as scriptural, for Christ came and fulfilled scripture. He established his Church and commissioned his disciples, to make disciples of all nations, thus building the Church.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the understanding to his word, made flesh in Christ Jesus his son. And may his Holy Spirit reveal to you all you all truth as you earnestly seek it. Amen

God bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to live by Faith

For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day. For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts for ever.
2 Corinthians 4:16‭, ‬18 GNBDK

Reflection:
Here on earth, the norm stands as seeing is believing. But it was Abraham who offered Issac in faith. The women touched the hem of Jesus' garment in faith. And the centurion's servant was made well by his faith. While we may have doubts about what awaits us after our life on earth. Let Jesus' words "Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe" Jn 20:29 bring us consolation, as we called to live by faith and not by sight.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father, pours out his grace on you drawing you close to Jesus. May your communion with Jesus his son, strengthen your faith as you walk in God's ways and may his Holy Spirit bless you with wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Truth and its Freedom

The time will come when people will not listen to sound doctrine, but will follow their own desires and will collect for themselves more and more teachers who will tell them what they are itching to hear. They will turn away from listening to the truth and give their attention to legends.
2 Timothy 4:3‭-‬4 GNBDK

Reflection:
The truth is always seems to be inexpedient, however, in reality the truth is liberating. It is the matter of perspective, perhaps that's why God wants to be like little children, because in our intellect we often end up doubting the wisdom of God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the understanding to the truth in Christ Jesus his son, may this truth break away all your bondages and set you free. And may his Holy Spirit guard and guide along the way. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Hope in the Word of God

This was done to make the scripture come true: “Not one of his bones will be broken.” And there is another scripture that says, “People will look at him whom they pierced.”
John 19:36‭-‬37 GNBDK

Reflection:
Jesus is the fulfillment of Scripture,  the promise of God's word. If every word spoken about Jesus came true, how much more confident can we be, who believe in our Lord Jesus Christ. God has plans for you, plans for a bright future and not harm. Jer 29:11 Believe that the word of God is coming true in your life.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you his word made flesh in Jesus Christ his son. May you receive him with a clean and contrite heart, knowing that you need a saviour. And may his Holy Spirit keep you child like, always open and humble. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Knowing Gods ways

The teacher of the Law said to Jesus, “Well done, Teacher! It is true, as you say, that only the Lord is God and that there is no other god but he. And to love God with all your heart and with all your mind and with all your strength, and to love your neighbour as yourself, is more important than to offer animals and other sacrifices to God.”
Mark 12:32‭-‬33 GNBDK

Reflection:
We often judge the world by our own standards of morality. Yes there is a law in place, but God's ways are different, and when we know God, we know love, and when we love, we love him and his creations. And that is when we are near the kingdom of God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father, draws you close to Jesus, who is the truth that comes from God and is the only way to Salvation. And may you always be lead by his Holy Spirit. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Interpretation of Scripture

Jesus answered them, “How wrong you are! And do you know why? It is because you don't know the Scriptures or God's power. Now, as for the dead being raised: haven't you ever read in the Book of Moses the passage about the burning bush? There it is written that God said to Moses, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’  He is the God of the living, not of the dead. You are completely wrong!”
Mark 12:24‭, 26-‬27 GNBDK

Reflection:
Scriptures are the word of God, but these although written by men, are inspired by the Holy Spirit. Therefore,  the understanding of scriptures is not intellectual merit, but the work of his Holy Spirit. And it is in complete and total submission, like a little child in his father's arms, that we are called to submit to God and his Holy Spirit will reveal to us the truth.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father moves your heart to submit to him just like Jesus his son did. And as you willingly surrender your will, may his Holy Spirit take control teaching you God's ways and convicting you of the truth. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Our Response to The Call of God

Some Pharisees and some members of Herod's party were sent to Jesus to trap him with questions. So Jesus said, “Well, then, pay the Emperor what belongs to the Emperor, and pay God what belongs to God.” And they were amazed at Jesus.
Mark 12:13‭, ‬17 GNBDK

Reflection:
Everyone is not going to be good and kind to you. Look at Governments world over, very few actually work for inclusive development, but this aspect doesn't give us the right to repudiate our obligations towards them. We are called to do our bit towards the state and towards the church.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you a heart of understanding his ways,  so that like Jesus you too may make a difference to the world around you. And may his Holy Spirit convict you of the truth at all times. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Called to knowing God

May grace and peace be yours in full measure through your knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. For this very reason do your best to add goodness to your faith; to your goodness add knowledge; to your knowledge add self-control; to your self-control add endurance; to your endurance add godliness; to your godliness add Christian affection; and to your Christian affection add love.
2 Peter 1:2‭, 5‭-‬7 GNBDK

Reflection:
We are all called to the knowledge of God, but in order to obtain this knowledge an effort is required on our path. And it is in this persistence and perseverance that we will know God.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the desire and longing to know him through his son Jesus. May you take time and effort in building your relationship with our living God. And may his Holy Spirit direct your path in this your endeavour. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Eternal Covenant: Jesus

Moses took half the blood of the animals and put it in bowls; and the other half he threw against the altar.  Then Moses took the blood in the bowls and threw it on the people. He said, “This is the blood that seals the covenant which the LORD made with you when he gave all these commands.”
Exodus 24:6‭, ‬8 GNBDK

When Christ went through the tent and entered once and for all into the Most Holy Place, he did not take the blood of goats and bulls to offer as a sacrifice; rather, he took his own blood and obtained eternal salvation for us.
Hebrews 9:12 GNBDK

Jesus said, “This is my blood which is poured out for many, my blood which seals God's covenant.
Mark 14:24 GNBDK

Reflection:
Throughout history sacrifice has been a sign of oblation. Man in his own freedom rejected God in disobedience, but God's love for man has been unconditional, and in order to make things right, in his infinite wisdom, comes down in the human form of Jesus to be offered as a perfect sacrifice. Thus establishing an eternal covenant for us all.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the understanding of the covenant he has established through his son Jesus so that you can live forever. May his Holy Spirit always strengthen your will as you willing submit it to God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

Build Your Faith

But you, my friends, keep on building yourselves up on your most sacred faith. Pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and keep yourselves in the love of God, as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy to give you eternal life.
Jude 1:20‭-‬21 GNBDK

Reflection:
While faith is a gift from God, it is also like a muscle that needs training. We are called to keep on building ourselves and in order to do so, we need to consciously take time aside and build a relationship with God. It is in these encounters that God will reveal himself to us and that will build our faith.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you the gift of faith, that draws you to his son Jesus Christ. May you have a personal and real encounter with Him and you are led by his Holy Spirit to build a relationship with God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)

The Power of Pray

Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. I assure you that whoever tells this hill to get up and throw itself in the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.  For this reason I tell you: when you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for.
Mark 11:22‭-‬24 GNBDK

Reflection:
How many times have we asked our family and friends or maybe even a religious person to pray for us. Subconsciously we are all driven to pray, but when we are aware of the power of prayer, we see an answer to all ours prayers. Let us then with faithful hearts take everything to God in prayer.

Prayer:
I pray that God our Father gives you a heart of fervent faith and lips that continuously pray. May all your prayers be answered through Jesus Christ. And may his Holy Spirit gives you the words to pray according to will of God. Amen

God Bless you and your loved ones :)
