An Equipped Soldier

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians 6:11 

God has clearly told us to put on His whole armor and not some of it. This is essential if we wish to win the battle against evil in our daily lives.

above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Ephesians 6:16 

Faith is not just one of God's armor; it is the one we must put on first. Faith is nothing but an unwavering belief and hope in God and his faithfulness. 

And take the helmet of salvation, and the words of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

Ephesians 6:17 

All of God's armor protects you. However, it is the word of God that is your weapon. Can a soldier without a weapon defeat the enemy? Similarly a Christian ignorant of God's word can not defeat the forces of evil.

 A Christian who hears and believes the word of God is ready for the battle. After all, faith comes by hearing the message and the message is heard through the word about Christ hearing by the word of God. 

Romans 10:17

God is Willing

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!”
Matthew 8:3 NIV

God wills for you better than you can imagine. Your birth has been God's will and not your own and He who began to good work in you will bring it to fruition. So reach out to him, He is willing to answer your call.

God reveals to us

Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.

Matthew 16:17 NIV

God speaks to us too, in the depths of the heart, he reveals to us the things we ought to know. But are we conscious enough to listen to him?

I pray that you grasp all that God our Father reveals to you through his Word and Son Jesus. And may his Holy Spirit give you wisdom and understanding. Amen

The Tree and its Fruit

A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
Matthew 7:18‭, ‬20 NIV

You can say Lord Lord, but more than words, it is your actions that matter. Do you bear the gifts of love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in all that you do?

I pray that God our Father blesses you as you strive to be more like Jesus his son bearing the fruits and gifts of his Holy Spirit. Amen

The Choice is yours

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

Popular culture does not change the truth. A entire herd can enter a den, but that doesn't make it a farm. To enter or not, the choice is yours.

The Journey Within

God is in control

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.
Matthew 10:29 NIV

If God cares so much about the sparrows, how much more worth are you, who are made in his image and likeness? Know that God is in control of every situation.

I pray that you trust God our Father in every situation, just like Jesus did even as He hung on the cross. And may his Holy Spirit reveal to you God's ways. Amen

You are the Handiwork of God, and his hand is on you. Let your prayer always be 'Not mine, but thy will be done'.

Jesus is the answer

Through Him, with Him and in Him is the abundant and eternal life. Jesus is the answer.

God Our Father

Jesus not only teaches us how to pray, He gives us the right and establishes our relationship with God as 'Our Father'.

I pray that you come into the light and knowledge of God our Father, his son Jesus and his Holy Spirit as you accept being the child of God. Amen

God sees within

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Matthew 6:6 NIV

While the world sees everything that is on the outside. God sees within.

I pray that your heart is moulded by the love of God our Father making you more like Jesus his son. And may his Holy Spirit guide every step you take. Amen

Be Perfect

"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."

Mathew 5:48 NIV

We are called to perfection in Christ, just as Christ in his human nature loved and even prayed for his enemies, so should we. In every situation, we must do and be like Christ, and that is how we will be Perfect. 

I pray that you are open to the graces God our Father bestows on you so that you can grow in the full maturity of Christ thus being perfect as you are called to be. And may his Holy Spirit assist you at every step of the way. Amen

Live Life led by the Holy Spirit

Our lives have to be lead by the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Jesus too was struck on the cheek. He didn't strike back. With patience and wisdom, He showed love and mercy.

I pray that you live each day in the abundant goodness of life that comes from God our Father as you walk in ways of his son Jesus being led by his Holy Spirit. Amen

The body and blood of Christ

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

It is through this union with Christ that we are made one with Him, and being made one with Christ we are whole and complete.

I pray that you accept in all humbleness the precious gift of the body and blood of Jesus Christ  who procceds from God our Father to bring us eternal life. May his Holy Spirit keep your heart open to all of God's ways. Amen

No Grey With God

All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

Forget shades of grey, with God there is no grey. It's either black or white. God's ways are very clear; it's either yes or no.

Gift from God

What we have with us is a gift from God. It is with us for reason and while it is with us today, God has his plans for tomorrow.

Being Free in Christ

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

The life of abundance comes with freedom, the same freedom Adam had, "You are free to eat from any tree" but with this freedom also comes responsibility, "Except from tree of Knowledge" for freedom without​ responsibility can often lead to catastrophe.

I pray that God our Father takes of the veil that shields​ you from his love and knowledge,as you embrace the abundance of life through his son Jesus Christ. And may his Holy Spirit bless you with all its fruits and gifts. Amen

Jesus commands

"Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 5:19 NIV

Even on the cross Jesus prayed for forgiveness. But when it comes to us, are we the same? Jesus has commanded us to Love. Therefore, let there be love.

I pray that God our Father moulds you to be more like his son Jesus, and may his Holy Spirit give you grace, wisdom and understanding. Amen

Called to Act

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Belief prompts action to the good works.  Is your belief prompting you to act according to God's ways? We have the Helper with us; let's ask for his Help.

I pray in all that you do, you do it for the greater Glory of God our Father, the source of all goodness. May you be strengthened by the works of Jesus his son. And may his Holy Spirit reveal to you God's ways. Amen

We often think accepting Jesus would take away our fun. But have you realised you are the only you... And that is Gods power to you.

God is watching you

As Jesus sat near the temple treasury, he watched the people as they dropped in their money. Many rich men dropped in a lot of money; then a poor widow came along and dropped in two little copper coins, worth about a penny.

God watches all we do, not just from the outside but from within. For God knows the heart of man and its intent.

I pray that God our Father moulds your heart to the likeness of his son Jesus'. And may you bear the fruits of His Holy Spirit. Amen

The Authority of Jesus

While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David?  David himself calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?” The large crowd listened to him with delight.
Mark 12:35‭, ‬37 NIV

Jesus taught with authority, the same authority with which He announced to Simon Peter, that upon him will His Church be built, and thus passed on his authority. Do we listen and obey to this authority or do we have it our way?

I pray that God our Father pours out in you his grace, so that in all humility you accept the teachings of His son Jesus and his Holy Church. And may his Holy Spirit enlighten your mind and give you a willing heart. Amen

Called to Love God n Neighbour

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  There is no commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:29‭-‬31 NIV

To love can be difficult because it is about giving, it is not about yourself, it is about the other. Perhaps that is why Christ commands us to Love. For God so loved the world that He Gave his one and only son as a ransom for us all.

I pray that God our Father pours out his grace on you as you open your heart to God and neighbour. May Jesus Christ be your strength and hope, and may his Holy Spirit bless you with and in abundant Love. Amen

God is our Fulfillment

When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

In this world there will always be a need, therefore, God made for Adam, a helper in Eve. In the kingdom of God there is no need,  for God himself is fulfillment be it thought, word or deed.

You Belong To God

Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture: "The stone the builders rejected  has become the cornerstone"

Don't worry about how the world treats you. If they reject you, remember they rejected Jesus too. Know that you belong to God.

Be Led by the Spirit

Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
John 20:21‭-‬23 NIV

Are we doing what God wants us to do? The indication that we are will come when we are led by his Spirit and that we will know by the fruits and gifts we bear.

I pray that God our Father sends down on you the gift of his Holy Spirit, the same Spirit promised by His son Jesus, so that your life is led by God's ways. Amen

Keep your Faith

When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”  Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.”
John 21:21‭-‬22 NIV

We are often distracted by what the other is doing. We are where we are, because God has placed us here. We've got to keep our faith and keep walking.

I pray that God our Father gives you the grace to trust his plans for you through his son Jesus. And may his Holy Spirit keep the flame of faith alive in you. Amen

Gods Ways

The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.
John 21:17 NIV

Our good Lord was rectifying Peters denial as He asked him the third time "Do you love me?" yet it upset Him. Something similar happens with us too.

I pray that you are open to all that God our Father allows in your life so that you are shaped anew in the image of his son Jesus. And may his Holy Spirit bless you with wisdom and understanding. Amen

Jesus intercedes​ for us

"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world."

Jesus is the only way to the Father.  And He is interceding for us.
